As you push off on your back foot, you feel the boat lurch under you. The Minerval girls on the shore shriek. The long, high leap you intended suddenly becomes a low, pancaking arc and you plunge into the Chilly Tarn.
The icy water hits you with a painful shock. You flail, getting your stiffening limbs moving so you can swim. Your flesh crawls, raising goosebumps on your arms and legs. Your nipples stiffen like icy diamonds. The water soon turns pain to numbness. As you fight your way to the surface for a breath, you see your bare arms and realize your traveling clothes had been stripped away in the Tarn.
"Straight to shore, straight to shore!" the two Minervals urge you. "Come on!"
You fight the stiffness in your limbs. No cold bath or mountain lake had ever bothered you, but this cold chills you to the bone. And what had happened to your clothes?
