Chapter 46 by Cretan_Bull14
Do Zack and Heather enjoy their meal?
Of course
After setting their plates, Zack and Heather took their seats at the table. Zack looked across at his girlfriend and smiled. Heather stopped cutting her steak and smiled back. It didn’t take long for the boy to become lost in her eyes.
“Baby, your dinner’s getting cold! Hurry up and eat!” Heather warned as she cut off a piece of her steak and dipped it into a puddle of steak sauce on the side of her plate. Zack shook himself out of his daze and did the same. After savoring her first bite, Heather turned her attention to the bottle of wine Gavin had picked out for them. She struggled for a moment before handing it off to Zack.
“Here, you open it,” Heather huffed. “Save the cork!”
“Okay, Babe,” Zack replied.
It took the hockey star all of three seconds to succeed in opening the bottle. After pouring Heather a glass, he filled his own.
“What should we drink to?” he asked as he raised his glass.
“I’d say ‘To Us!’ but I haven’t been with you long enough to be the reason why you drink, so let’s drink to 'Happiness!'” Heather laughed.
“To Happiness!” the pair said in unison. Zack raised his glass and looped his arm around Heather’s.
“Ooh! Old fashioned! I gotta snap a pic of this!” Heather smiled as she grabbed her phone and took a picture of them sharing their first sip. In an instant, the image was off to their friends back at the cabin.
Morsel by morsel, their meal disappeared. Every so often, Zack would feed his lover a bite of his steak and the girl across from him would smile as her teeth slid it off his fork. On more than one occasion, the pair leaned over the table and kissed.
“It’s too bad we don’t have a candle out here to make it even more romantic,” Heather sighed as she took a sip of wine from her glass.
“Good idea but it wouldn’t work out here with the wind. Mother Nature’s light show will have to suffice,” Zack frowned.
“Oh well, we’ll have to save the candles for our second date!” the brunette smiled.
“What makes you think we’ll have a second date? You haven’t exactly impressed me yet, Miss Ravers!” Zack mocked. Heather instantly picked up on his sarcasm.
“Well, Mr. Bishop, I must admit you’ve been a bit of a disappointment yourself!” she chuckled as Zack leaned over the table.
Heather leaned in to give Zack another kiss when he surprised her by reaching over to her plate, stuck his fork into a piece of her steak, and carried it to his mouth instead of returning her embrace.
“HEY! THAT’S MINE!” Heather pouted.
“Not anymore! NOM! NOM! NOM!” Zack chewed while flashing his patented grin.
Heather stared at him for a few seconds while she contemplated her ****.
