You have gone in two directions from the barn so far, directly away from the front door and directly behind it, so you head due away from the horse stable this time and into the woods. You are shortly rewarded by discovering the ground slopes downward in this direction, which you had already guessed because unlike the cow byre the horse stable has three steps down into it from the main part of the barn and you follow the slope down through the meadow for about 5 minutes at a ground eating stride before coming to the edge of the woods.

"Alright everyone," You begin, "we are going to split into 'fire and maneuver' teams, two people each, Filandariel and myself will go dead ahead from here while the other two head left and right, keep going down slope till you find a stream, if you get to a point where you cant go onward without heading up slope for more than a minute or two turn around and wait when you get back here for the rest of us. We rendezvous back here in an hour, so after 25 minutes or so turn back so you are sure to get back on time, cause anyone that doesn't come back on time the rest of us go looking for them. If you find one of the streams or springs get a drink and turn around to wait for us here. Don't engage any hostiles you encounter, wolves, bears, other predators, leave them alone and withdraw, If they insist stage a fighting withdrawal, and if you run out of ammo, RUN! if you find yourselves waiting at the rendezvous alone stay there, do not go looking for the others unless there are at least two teams, and if no one shows up by night fall head back to base and wait there until I return. DO NOT get separated from your partner, I don't care if you need to piss or poop or what, stay together! Is everyone understood?" They all nod and you suddenly think of one last thing. "If going further down slope means entering a cave, tunnel, mine, or den: DON'T! Turn around and head for the rendezvous, we will check any things like that out tomorrow with the whole band!" They nod at this as well and the group breaks up.
