Taylor dances with Zack

While Chloe and Gavin danced without a care, two pairs of siblings came together on the dance floor. Tired of seeing her brother moping around because of the two girls on either side of him, Taylor went over to the couch they were sitting on and broke up the conversation.

“Sorry to interrupt everyone, but the music is playing and it’s time to dance. I need to steal my brother so we can continue an old family tradition: Siblings dance to the first song,” The Bishop girl told the four teens on the couch.

Heather and Victoria frowned at the disruption, but Dustin was smiling as he now had the full attention of not one but two attractive females. Looking at Zack and Taylor as they started swaying to the beat, Dustin started laughing. When Hannah and Ashley began dancing as well, he was all but rolling on the floor.

“What’s so funny, Dustin?” Victoria asked her ex-boyfriend.

Pointing to the two pairs of siblings, he replied with “I’ll be DAMNED if they think I’m going to dance with Shawn!”

Zack heard laughter coming from the couch that he had just been sitting on. Given the nature of his departure, he was certain that he was the brunt of one of Dustin’s jokes. The brunette boy seethed with anger as he looked back at the trio. He took half a step away from his sister when she refocused him.

“Forget about it, Baby Brother,” Taylor said to Zack, “At least for now.”

“I can’t. I want Victoria, but I also like Heather,” he confessed to his sister.

“And if you go over there and slug Dustin, you’ll lose them both and get your ass kicked,” the older Bishop informed her younger brother as they danced.

“How’d…” Zack tried to ask but was cut off mid-sentence.

“Because I know when you’re angry and are about to do something stupid,” Taylor replied.

“Well, what should I do instead?”

“My advice is to back off for now. Let the one you’re meant to be with come to you. You’ve got a lot on your plate now, between college, graduation and all that other bullshit you high school kids think is important,” she answered.

As Zack pondered what his sister had told him, the song changed. The song they had first started dancing to was an upbeat song that a brother and sister could dance to and not raise any eyebrows. The second song, however, required dancing a bit closer than Zack was comfortable getting with his sister. He froze and looked at Taylor.

“What’s the matter, Zack?” she asked her little brother.

“I can’t dance like that with you, Tay,” he answered.
