Chapter 10

Who enters the room?
Your first (preplanned) victims.
The first figure, a heavily armoured Paladin carrying a two-handed sword makes it through the door with a battle cry. Your skeletons wait until the second figure, a lightly armed fighter with a sword and shield, is just about to go through the door when as per your instructions a rope is pulled taunt across the entryway causing a tripwire. The fighter careens into the back of the Paladin and they both land in a heap on the floor before the tied up Jenna. Your skeletons advance and start beating at the warriors to cause temporary intelligence damage and knock them out. The warriors try to untangle themselves but the Paladin is too encumbered by his own armour to do so easily and is almost turtle like in his dexterity.
You are revelling in your apparent victory when a large mastiff breed of dog with a scarf around its neck launches into the room as if shot from a cannon, it quickly latches onto the nearest skeleton and starts tearing at its bony leg. An arrow is fired into the room by an unseen assailant hitting the skeleton which the dog is attacking causing it to unbalance and fall to the ground where the dog starts to attack it's skull. You counter by using your two magic points to order two of your skeletons to attack your mystery attacker. Quickly following them you find them fighting a ranger who is now armed with a sword and dagger in the tight confines of the corridor. He is winning and has almost dispatched one of the skeletons but his concentration is broken when you start firing arrows at him. The battle quickly turns against him and he is soon knocked ****.
Returning to the room you find the Paladin is still on his back but the fighter has regained his footing and has dispatched two skeletons, the dog has crushed the skull of the skeleton it had been attacking and the powerful animal is now attacking another in a frenzy.
You cast fear and once again fortune turns in your favour. The dog stops attacking and cowers in a corner of the room. The fighter fatally hesitates and is overpowered. The Paladin resists the spell and is gradually getting up before being beaten to the ground again by your skeletons.
During the lull of combat you pause and cast a relieved eye across your captives, you put a sack over Jennas head so she can't see what happens next. You empty the heroes backpacks onto the ground and then strip them of their armour. You feed the cowering dog some meat found in its masters inventory to calm it down then remove its scarf and the spiked collar it wore underneath, you try to chase it away but it doesn't leave. Turning to your still **** captives you execute them one by one and hear two dings as you do so. It was callous of you but you didn't know how else to raise in power and justify their executions by reminding yourself that they had come to desecrate what you now considered to be your tomb.
With a weary undead heart, unsure of your destiny you check your new stats.

Ok, some more HP, your ATK went up more than your DEF and only one MP. Also someone gave you a new immunity that they probably overlooked before. After examining the items taken from your captives you decide to wear the heavy armour under your robes and find a sharp edged sword that gives +1 to attack. The other items are quite mundane and you pass the remaining couple of weapons and armour amongst your followers keeping the few potions and scrolls for future examination. You decide to wear the scarf to help hide your appearance under your hooded robe, not through shame of your undeadness but to help give the element of surprise in future encounters. You laugh to yourself at how easy (or lucky) it had been so far when surprisingly it echoes around the room. Your laugh is surprisingly high pitched, almost a cackle. Jenna's hooded head turns in your direction and tries to speak but she remains silenced by the gag stuffed into her mouth. The dog sits at your feet, tongue hanging out and with a rather stupid grin on its face.
It had been a bizzare day.
You consider whether your next step should be to remain testing your luck by luring adventurers to their **** or move on, with or without your bait, Jenna.
Stay or go with/out Jenna?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
