Chapter 6

Cole woke to the feeling of Tina tracing the length of his cock with her fingertips while she pecked his chest with her soft lips. His night had been filled with dreams of making love with her in various locations in his home, including the unfinished part of his basement. A raspy groan came from him as he stretched and brought her close.

She wrapped her fingers around his cock. “Keep your eyes shut, Cole.”

He frowned. “Why the hell should I keep them closed?”

“It’s just for a little while longer,” she said. “Last night was so much fun that I want it to last. Is that so wrong?”

He ran his fingers over her hair. “I’m just thinking you’re afraid of how you look. I don’t know why you’re so hung up about it, especially since I’m not that much of a catch.”

Her hand stroked him, bringing it to attention. “Don’t lie. Do you know how good you look? I’m going to get on top of you. Now don’t open your eyes until I say so, okay?”

He saluted. “Yes, miss.”

Tina slid down a little and then pushed herself up to straddle his legs, her thighs pressing against his quads. Cole imagined her soft, pale skin and silky hair. She was naked, and he couldn’t see her. The anticipation only aroused more desire.

She rose and took his length and pressed it against her, moistening it with her nectar. She lowered her hips and let out a groan, impaling herself on Cole’s girth. Cole pressed his lips together and squeezed his eyes shut harder, fighting the urge to look at her.

He felt the comforter slide down her back and pile up on his knees. Sliding his hands down, he gripped her thighs as she ground down on him. That same tight heat from the night before welcomed him again. Tina took his hands, kissed them, and pinned them to the bed by his shoulders.

Her breath hitched when she said, “You can open your eyes now.”

Cole opened his eyes and immediately stiffened under her. With her costume removed, he realized who she really was. That deep auburn hair cascading off her shoulders made everything click into place in his mind. Her amethyst eyes glowed as they dilated, showing her power. With the mask gone, he could see the elegant curves of her cheekbones.

She was beautiful and terrifying all at once, an angel of death.

Her eyebrows rose, and her gaze darted between his eyes, as if his next move would determine hers. The supervillain bit her lower lip and waited.

He didn’t know what to say until she clenched around him and squeezed his pinned hands. This woman could have killed him a thousand times already, but decided to spend the night with him. If she wanted him hurt or dead, it would have happened already. He searched his conscience and felt that acting repulsed would be a lie; she was hot as fuck even if she was a villain.

A tentative smile crossed his face. “Good morning, Tephra.”

Her eyebrows flicked as she grinned back. “Good morning, Cole.”

He looked up at his hands, knowing he was fucked if he struggled. Anxiety and lust swirled in his chest.

“I’ve never been in a situation like this,” he said. “What am I supposed to do?”

A stifled laugh passed her lips. “I don’t know. I never ended up fucking a man I intended to kill.”

He closed his eyes for a moment and squeezed her hands, thinking of the right words. “Fighting you is the last thing I want. I propose a truce until you’ve gone.”

She tilted her head. “Only if we have sexy shower time and you cook me breakfast.”

“It’s a deal.”

Tephra rolled her glowing purple eyes. “Oh thank fuck.”

Her body collapsed onto his as her lips came down on his mouth. She let go of his hands and cradled his head, scratching his scalp with her long fingernails. Her tongue parted his lips and explored his mouth, touching every part as if to sear it into her memory.

Cole put his hands on her ass and bounced her on his crotch. Instead of going rough, Cole wanted to make his last time with her sensuous and intimate. Her lips started to grip him, and soft moans came from her mouth.

She lifted herself and looked him in the eyes. “This morning, I was so fucking scared you would have hated me for what I did.”

Cole winced internally. This woman was responsible for hundreds of people’s deaths over the past few years with her terrorist actions. That vulnerability in her eyes made him feel like fighting this morning was the wrong thing to do. Anyway, he wasn't a superhero.

He cupped her face, not wanting her to feel guilty. “It’s my fault for letting things go as far as they did without asking to see your real face. Don’t worry about it. Remember, there’s a truce.”

Tephra melted into him as they brought their lips together while Tephra’s hips pushed down on him. Starting at her neck, he lightly scratched down her back, over her ass, and then down her thighs until they reached her knees, only to reverse the process. Her body was the perfect balance of softness and fitness, with strong muscles underneath a curvy exterior. Bucking, Cole pushed himself inside of her; a hand on her butt kept her rocking onto him as they moaned into each other's mouths with deep open-mouthed kisses. Cole’s length tingled as her walls constricted around it, bringing him closer.

“Mmmph, I can feel you stretching me,” she said.

He embraced her, one hand on the back of her head and the other holding her close. She pushed her mouth onto his neck and sucked, and his cock slid against her insides. She whined as she sucked, pushing Cole right to the edge. When a convulsion rocked Tephra, he lost himself. A load of hot semen sprayed against the walls of her vagina. She raked her purple fingernails down his arms as her pussy clamped and released before clamping harder. She gasped and shuddered as his pulses subsided.

Even though his mind told him Tephra was no good, his body wanted nothing more than to claim her and keep her. He decided to make her leaving as caring as possible, stroking her as she clung to him.

Her mouth migrated to his earlobe. She whispered, “I want that sexy shower time you promised me, right now.”

…

If Cole's mother taught him one thing, it was how to cook an omelet. In the kitchen, he sprinkled cheese over the bubbling eggs and looked over at Tephra, sitting on the counter in his Pats jersey and gym shorts. He struggled with the thought of the deadly woman sitting on the counter, dangling her legs off the edge. The morning sun reflected off her auburn hair as she looked at him with an infectious smile.

Cole shook the pan to see if the omelet still stuck. “There’s something I want to say. I’m really sorry for…” His voice trailed off.

She tilted her head. “Sorry for what?”

He tilted the pan and rolled the omelet onto a chipped white plate. “Breaking your jaw. Sending you flying like that. It was all I could think of to save Aphelia.”

He watched her warily as she pulled a knife and fork out of a drawer and walked over to him. Swatting him on the ass, she said, “You’re a very naughty boy. Don’t you know it’s rude to stop a supervillain from killing their nemesis? You should feel proud. That’s the first time a superhero ever knocked me out.”

He poured more egg mixture into the pan and swirled it around, tilting it in all directions. “About those superpowers. I never had any until you charged up that blast of yours. That wave of energy knocked me on my back, and I’ve felt different ever since.”

She brought her breakfast to his kitchen table, sat down, and started eating. “I’m not that surprised. Usually powers develop in childhood. Latent powers are rare but a known phenomenon. They can reveal themselves during times of stress or, in your case, when you're exposed to another supe’s powers.”

He plated his breakfast and sat across from her. Her foot traced up his shin as he splashed hot sauce on the omelet. “Something tells me you’re not holding a grudge against me.”

She shrugged. “If you hadn’t gotten in the way, I wouldn’t have tried to kill you. If I didn’t try, I wouldn’t be here with such a stupid grin on my face.”

He smirked and pointed his fork at her. “What stopped you from killing me? Was it my stunning good looks or my rock-hard abs?”

She giggled so much she had to put down her fork and cover her mouth. “If you want the truth, it was when you whacked me with that awful costume of yours. It was impossible to stay mad at someone so ridiculous.”

Cole frowned and nodded. “It’s too bad you made me leave my costume at Maddy’s. It deserves a place of honor over my fireplace for saving my life.”

The cuckoo clock on the wall rang out. Tephra looked up, eyes widening. “Shit! I have to get going.”

He rose to follow her as she walked out the side door onto the driveway. “Are you sure you don’t need a coat? I feel bad for tearing your suit.”

She whirled around and kissed him, putting a hand over his heart. “Don’t ever feel bad for letting a woman indulge in her fantasies, Cole. When I go, we’ll be adversaries again, but that doesn’t mean we have to seek each other out. I’d rather leave you be. Would you do me the same courtesy?”

He shook his head. “I’m not a hero. You don’t need to worry about me. I would tell you to turn from your evil ways, but I’m sure someone’s already given you the pep talk.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure about not being a hero, Cole. I’m sure the good guys already have their eyes on you.” She pouted and hammered her fists against her thighs. “Why do I have to meet such a great guy like you? The pool of eligible villains is so gross. You better watch out. I may sneak into your bed once in a while.”

“Just make sure you wave a flag of truce before you get under the covers.” He gave her one last hug.

She lifted off the ground, leaving a red-tinged black trail hanging in the air. “I’ll be seeing you, Cole. Let’s try to keep clear of each other; I’d never forgive myself if I hurt you.” She rocketed away, leaving a thrumming sensation deep in Cole’s core.

His eyes tracked her. “Damn, that was my favorite jersey.”
