We See The Meeting Between All Of Them

Tsunade regarded the pair of Sasuke and Shikamaru with a glance that was both disappointed and at the same time visibly annoyed at the two of them.

Sasuke especially was a young man who had left a sour taste in the Sanins mouth due to his involvement with her former teammate and nearly causing the death of Naruto, the boy who reminded the old woman so much of her younger brother that is bordered on reincarnation.

Then there was Shikamaru. She had once had high hopes in the Chunin's career, even after the failure of the first mission she had sent him on, namely to retrieve the same boy he was standing with now, he had clearly an intellect that was unique in the Shinobi world. However, from the report the shadow clone of Konohamaru had given her, neither of the two deserved any pity for their demotion and the subsequent life ahead of them.

“Well, if these aren't the biggest two disgraces of the hidden leaf since Orochimaru himself, I was questioning if the two of you would even have the guts to show up to this meeting in the first place” she gave Konohamru a small nod.

“Although I suppose even you two are not stupid or cowardly enough to disappoint the only reason you two aren't dead or behind bars yet. I take it your boss has informed you about the purpose of this meeting?” She raised her eyebrows questioningly as she focused on Sasuke first, delighting in how the Uchiha squirmed before her eyes.

Perhaps it was some part of her inner Senju breaking out, but the thought of the last Uchiha being this much of a crybaby and soon about to willingly wipe his clan's name from the history books brought a smile to the old Kunoichis face.

“Speak up Sasuke-chan” Konohamaru gave his little brother a gentle shove in the direction of the Hokage as both he and Tsunade waited for the boy to speak…

Shaking in place at what he was being asked to do, Sasuke stammered out at first and said, “I-I k-know what I’m being asked to do here” as Tsunade continued to look on at Sasuke, knowing what he was going to ask for as she waited for him to say exactly what it was going to be…

“I-I want to strike the U-Uchiha clan out of the records, I want to be adopted into my Big Brother Konohamaru’s family and become a Sarutobi from now on” Sasuke eventually stammered out to some internal delight from Tsunade at hearing this, the inner Senju in her getting some sense of satisfaction out of this as she eyed him up as she said, “Since you clearly want it from now on, I’ll make sure to file out the paperwork to make that happen, by the end of the day Sasuke, you will be known as Sarutobi Sasuke from this moment on, do you understand?” to which Sasuke nodded and said, “Yes, Hokage-sama I understand, and I know that my big brother will take care of me” as Konohamaru soon smirked at hearing this from Sasuke with Tsunade allowing Sasuke to step back and join with Konohamaru as Sasuke eagerly stepped back and got to the side of Konohamaru, who made sure to hug Sasuke after that, the little bro that Sasuke was now, eagerly soaking in the comfort from the hug as Konohamaru soon nudged Shikamaru up ahead of them, for him to get his statement in as a stern look again graced Tsunade’s face…

“Shikamaru Nara. After your utter disgrace in the face of combat and your betrayal of the will of fire when confronting enemy combatants I strip you of all your titles and privileges. You shall never be clan head of the Nara clan. Your rank and headband are revoked. It is only thanks to the request of your new stepfather that you are not exiled from the village outright and shall be given the gracious opportunity to pay back towards our community via entering back into the Academy and serving as an example to the bright young students there how far cowardice and laziness can make you fall if you are not careful” she shook her head in open disdain, her eyes field with disappointment that would have broken the heart of even the toughest soldier if he was at the receiving end of it.

“Hand over your vest and your headband right now and apologize for your actions. Do not run from them. Do never try to pretend you are anything less than the coward that you are. And NEVER dare to be lazy in your new place at the academy or I swear on my grandfather's name I will make you wish that your new father spanking you stupid was the only thing you would have to worry about!” he declaration was fierce and her demand for her questions to be followed clear. She would not tolerate any backtalk from the boy anymore than she would have done with Sasuke.

With Konohamaru giving an affirming nod towards his stepson and benign aided by his new “uncle” Sasuke giving him a pleading look to not make his big brother or Granny Tsunade any madder than they already were, Shikamaru took a gulp and stepped forward to the Hokage's desk with a bowed head.

With his head bowed before Tsunade, Shikamaru, soon took off his headband and his Chunin vest, putting it on the desk before her as Shikamaru soon stammered out his apology to her, “I-I am deeply sorry for being such a coward that it cost the lives of my father and my sensei out there on mission, I am nothing more than a coward that you and others rightfully believe me to be and I will never be lazy at the Academy, I promise you that I will do my best to avoid it” keeping his head down, as he couldn’t bear to look her in the eyes…

Tsunade eyed up the vest and headband that Shikamaru put in front of her and made it a point to stare at Shikamaru even if there was no eye contact between them and said, “Make certain of that Shikamaru, your word may have lost a great amount of value behind them as a result of your actions, but I assume that others here and in the Academy will make it a strong point to hold you up to your promises here, hopefully if this second stint at the Academy does anything, it will make you less of a coward that you proved yourself to be today, Now step back with your soon to be father and uncle now.”

With a gulp Shikamaru nodded at hearing that and said, “Thank you Hokage-Sama” before immediately rushing back to where Konohamaru and Sasuke were standing, looking down at his own feet as he got back in line with them as Konohamaru and Sasuke eyed up Shikamaru a bit before turning their attention back to Tsunade across the desk from them.

“Well then, I believe that’s all the major business covered here in this meeting” Tsunade said before adding to Konohamaru, “I trust that Naruto has been behaving appropriately at home and as well as on your journey to recapture Sasuke?” wanting to get some confirmation on how Naruto was from the source of Naruto’s main caretaker, as while Naruto’s backslide was a bitter disappointment to Tsunade, there was still a connection between them as the Senju and Uzumaki families were related…

Konohamaru smiled at hearing that and said, “Naruto’s been behaving wonderfully now, still getting the hang of being back in the Academy and he has been behaving for me under my watchful eyes, He’s quite adorable now!” as Tsunade nodded at hearing that and said, “That should be everything now, you’re all dismissed then” before letting them all leave her office, with Konohamaru smiling as he grabbed ahold of Sasuke and Shikamaru’s hands and led them out of the Hokage office, walking past Shizune as they walked out of the building and back down the streets back to the clan district, aiming to get back to the Sarutobi estate…

When they got back to the Sarutobi estate and walked through the front doors, Konohamaru called out, “We’re back from our meeting!” before smiling as he heard, “Boss’s back!” with an excited tone, as Naruto had came running from the backyard where he had to have been playing as he had grass stains on him as Konohamaru asked, “How’d you get those grass stains on you, you were clean when we left here for the meeting?”

“Miss Karin offered to make clones so I could play tag with her in the backyard and I said yeah!” Naruto said excitedly as he hopped up and down as Karin soon walked in and said, “My clones were a bit too fast for him to handle though and he tumbled when he tried to tag them and missed and tumbled on the grass!” as Konohamaru had to smile as he heard that, loving how well Naruto was adjusting to being his little underling as looked over Naruto and how adorable he was acting at the moment and couldn’t help himself from ruffling Naruto’s har, with Naruto nuzzling his hand as he enjoyed this as Sasuke and Shikamaru watched on, wondering if they were ever going to completely adjust to their new lifestyle, like how Naruto seemingly had…

“Sasu-chan? Shika-chan? Feel free to tell Naruto what happened. Also Naru-chan I think I stopped you from explaining to your friends what they should expect during their academy time tomorrow so feel free to continue where you left off. I got some more stuff to discuss with the other big guys and girls when it comes to you three alright?” he stepped past Naruto and gave Karin, Udon and Moegi a look as they all flashed out of sight, their speed far too quick for the three newly minted academy students to follow.

“Yes Boss! Will do Boss!” Naruto shouted after Konohamaru while his boss began to inform his clan about his recently acquired wealth and Sasuke having forsaken the Uchiha clan to be his little bro, Naruto finished bringing Sasuke and Shikamaru up to speed.

“You are gonna need to be real nice to our new teacher on your first day. You might remember his older brother Sasuke, Daikoku used to teach Itachi. Denki-sensei is not gonna take it easy on your or Shikamaru especially since he got a big thing about… well you know scaredy cats” Naruto said awkwardly as he began to rub the back of his head.

In truth, Denki had more than once said the lowest thing you could be in his opinion was a traitor or a coward, and Shikamaru and Sasuke fit both of those criteria in many ways.
