Continue with Narutos expalnation

Naruto continued trying to not worry either of his future classmates too much “You should really keep your head down and do as you are told in general. Think of him a bit like the boss in that regard. Even if you think he is being unfair to you? All that you will get via complaining is him going even harder on you down the line. In general, just keep doing as he and your classmates tell you. Especially Moroni-sama…” Naruto drifted off a bit near the end.

He really hoped neither of the two wound up messing up his chances with his protector, for both their sakes as well as his own.

“Moroni-sama is technically the youngest and smallest kid in the class and at the bottom of the totem-pole, or at least was before our collective backslide. But he has been keeping me safe from most of the bullies being too mean to me and I am sure if you ask real nice and do as he says he will do the same with you” he gave them a cheery smile, causing Sasuke and Shikamaru to cast worried looks towards each other.

It was one thing to go back to the academy, but being the toadies of the youngest kid in class was another thing entirely.

“Oh, and from what I know we are gonna get some new kids joining us tomorrow alongside you, but just to be sure, be extra nice to them too. One of them is a Nara boy from what I know, so you might be able to get along well with him Shikamaru. But you give him the proper respect too. We are all “special cases” like Moroni-sama likes to say so you should not act like you are their equal. I know you two are not really used to it yet, but you are probably gonna be… g-gonna be the d-d-dead lasts like me and we got to keep our superiors happy to not cast a bad light on Konohamaru-sama” he struggled to get the words across his lips but needed to do so.

“But hey it is not gonna be so bad guys okay? If I could fit in, I’m sure you two will manage as well right?” he gave them a real uneasy smile. Truthfully, he did not think either of them was gonna have an easy time at all.

But he really needed somebody else to take some of the heat and judging by the fact of how much of a coward and crybaby Sasuke and Shikamaru turned out to be, Naruto hoped Moroni-sama and some of Naruto's meaner Senpais would shift a few of their pranks and punishments of the day to the two of them.

Because after all was said and done, at the Academy it was every backslider for himself and if Sasuke and Shikamaru took some of the workloads of the written and physical lessons off him Naruto was not going to complain about it.

With that said and cleared up between all three of them, it was soon off to go play in the backyard again, like the little backsliders they were, until Konohamaru showed up with the others once they arrived, mandated it was dinnertime, bathtime and then bedtime for the little Academy students there…

For Naruto, it wasn’t really that out of the ordinary as this was part of a routine that he was used to at this time, but for Shikamaru and Sasuke, both were nervous and a bit embarrassed at being put through this but they were able to get through this before all of them were put to bed for a day at the Academy to come for all of them…

When the next day came around, Konohamaru was quick to get all of them up and early at a time that Naruto was used to by this point though Shikamaru and Sasuke needed some urging to get themselves up and ready for the day as well, getting them all into the same tub for a quick morning bath to get them dressed for the day, before Konohamaru made clones to get all of them dressed at the same time, picking out the cat-eared hoodie and matching shorts outfit he bought outside the village for Sasuke and dressing him in it, while also dressing Naruto in the fox-eared hoodie and shorts outfit he got at the same time he got Sasuke’s outfit, before soon dressing Shikamaru in the fanboy-esque outfit that Naruto normally wore, as a current stopgap until Konohamaru could take Shikamaru shopping in the future for more cuter and fitting outfits for him…

Once they were all dressed and had a quick breakfast at Konohamaru’s place, it was soon off to walk them to the Academy, with Konohamaru walking Shikamaru there first with Udon and Moegi walking Sasuke and Karin walking Naruto there for now, with all of them making the walk to the Academy, as Sasuke and Shikamaru got most of the bystander’s attention as they were walking there, as Naruto in his new get-up had somewhat been normalized with passing time…

By the time they soon got to the Academy gates, Moroni-sama was right there waiting for Naruto, and was likewise stunned at the fact that Sasuke and Shikamaru would also be joining the Academy, but soon took it in stride, with Naruto being the one to officially introduce Sasuke and Shikamaru to Moroni-sama…

Moroni stepped up to Konohamaru and looked up at the newly minted Chunin with awe across his face “I had heard some rumors from Subaku, the new kid from the Nara clan, that we got another backslider but I had no idea you would deliver them Konohamaru-senpai! Are these two gonna be new buddies of mine as well?!” Moroni sounded excited as the tiny tyke wiped away a bit of snot from his nose and jumped from side to side examining the two older boys staring at him awkwardly.

Konohamaru gave him a cheery smile “you sure are kid! Hope you will take care of them and show them how to fit in just like you did with my number 1 fanboy. See here Sasuke-chan over there used to be known as Sasuke Uchiha. Might have heard about him from the older kids at the academy. He was a prodigy back in the day and has had a real tough time with his former family, but thankfully I whooped his butt and made sure to get his head straight” he ruffled Sasukes hair lovingly as he talked.

“He now goes by Sasuke Sarutobi and is officially my little brother. And while he formerly used to be a real tryhard he is not the cute little crybaby he had always tried to pretend he wasn't so he is gonna really need you to help him out to never let his head grow too big for his own good and try to act all tough again alright?” Moroni just eagerly nodded his head.

“You can count on me Sir!” he said as he thumbed his chest before looking towards Shikamaru “and what about him Senpai, is he your little bro too?” causing Konohamaru to rub the back of his head awkwardly.

“No not really… it will sound a bit weird but I am actually his stepdad now. Shikamaru recently lost his dad and Sensei via not being able to handle the pressure of being a Chunin so after his mom agreed to marry me she and I both decided that it would be best for him and the clan as a whole if Shika-chan went back to the Academy” Moroni let out a small “aah” before walking over to Shikamaru and patting him on the back, although he had to stretch real good to reach it due to his small height.

“That is fine Shika-chan. Not all people can be as amazing at being a Ninja as your new daddy is. Some people are just wimps. But no worry, Moroni-sama is gonna protect you and your new… uncle?” He looked towards Konohamartu quizzically before giving Shikamaru an encouraging smile as he got a nod from his Senpai that he was right on the money “just like I have protected Naru-chan. As long as you do as you are told by me and our teacher and are polite to the other guys and girls in the class, you will fit right in am sure!” he took notice of neither Sasuke or Shikamaru looking all that assured by his speech but hey, Konohamaru seemed satisfied and that was all the little tyke really cared about.

As he left and left the kids alone, Moroni slowly but surely guided them all to the classroom they had been assigned, all too eager to begin the day with two new underlings for him! He had already been looking forward to having Naru-chan back since the written and physical exams had been a real hassle in his absence, but the two new backsliders were an unexpected but most certainly not unwelcome surprise!

Denki had a noticeable frown on his face when Sasuke and Shikamaru entered his classroom with lowered gazes. He had been informed by the Hokage herself about the boy's unique citation mirroring that of Naruto in many ways.

In truth Denki didn't care for either of the two. One was a coward and a disgrace to his headband in his mind, the other a traitor that joined with the third Hokage's killer. But, if the kage's own grandkid could forgive the two errand brats, who was he to deny them entry into his class. He had been clear to Tsunade that he would let them join but he would most certainly not go easy on either of them and the old woman had just smiled in response.

When the bell rang shortly after Moroni guided Shikamaru and Sasuke onto the stage, he made a motion with his hand and got the whole class's attention quickly onto himself and the three people standing in front of him on the presentation stage.

“Class, please welcome with me your three newest classmates. I thought initially that you would get to see five of them, but sadly two had to postpone their arrival due to a bad case of the flu. I know you are all very eager to meet your new students so let me introduce you to them. This young man” he said as he pointed towards Subaku Nara who gave a lazy wave of his hand with a dopey smile plastered upon his face, casting occasional glances towards Shikamaru snickering at him “is Subaku Nara and he unlike his fellow Nara clan member over there is a young little sprout full of potential and I hope you all take him into the fold and show him the hospitality he deserves” this got a few cheers and greetings from the other kids as he walked near an empty seat to the left of Moroni and sat himself down and gave the slightly older kid a small nod.
