Before The Cart…
My crew called me mad as I began to dismantle one of our ships down to its bare planks. They called me insane whenever I began to reposition those same planks in the form of this statue. However now, they call me a genius as we begin to move, hearing hushed whispers and tones from just outside of our camouflage.

We had been stuck inside of this horse for days, crunched and tight close together as we waited, hungry, and quickly running out of supplies. At first even I believed that this was not going to work, but as I see the flames from the torches of the walls of Troy pass between the small gaps in the planks I knew my plan was well into action. I tightened my grip on my blade as I watched, waited, for the perfect time to strike.
Then, as darkness approached, and the festivities of the Trojans, believing they have won, begun to die out, I waited, just a minute longer. My crew was restless, ready to rampage the city we had been camping out of for far too long.
“Captain…” I heard my first mate Eurylochus whisper just beside me. “The time is now. If we do not move soon the Queen may be far too gone.” He whispered again, but I only held up my fist silently to keep him quiet.
“Helen is a strong woman… she will be fine. Besides…” I whisper as I see a patrol of militia men push out from beyond the gates into the clearing next to our disguise. “I have been studying the guards routes… they had one last run before everyone truly goes to bed. That is when we strike.” I whisper, as I watch as the last battalion continues their march until they are fully out of sight.
One more second…
“Now.” I whisper as I slowly push open the trapdoor to the horse and we all begin to fall out onto the dirt path of Troy, finally infiltrating the large fortress.

My feet fall to the ground last as my army begins to storm the castle, fleeting into the night silently like a shadow. Until Queen Helen could be found we did not want to give away our position just yet. We needed her to be safe… for all of our sake.
Tonight would be the night that the world will remember as the fall of Troy!
