What's next?
Spring Break (R,C)
Richard exited the forest, walking down to the beach. After his conversation with Stella took an unexpected turn, he’d spent the rest of his morning reading the history book that he’d picked up from the library when he was with Maeve. Aubrey had sent a text ‘requesting his presence sometime before lunch, but not right away.’
So here he was, arriving at the beach with a set of trunks in hand after finishing another chapter. He’d waited until he was growing hungry, assuming from the way she’d phrased it that she had some sort of plan for lunch together.
He found his girlfriend waiting at the cabana, seated at the bar. She was sipping on some sort of fruity cocktail, an empty glass on the table beside her. She must have decided to wear one of her old swimsuits instead of getting something new, as she had on the purple bikini with white trim. Though her guess this morning that it wouldn’t fit anymore was proving correct, as the purple bikini looked like it was losing its fight with her ass and any further movement would cause it to be swallowed up entirely.
“Hey.” He greeted her, causing her to swivel around quickly. Her eyes lit up as she saw him, hopping up and into his arms.
“Hey!” She hugged him. “Do you want to change before or after lunch? I tried to plan something light.”
“I…” He let his hands drift down, Aubrey smiling and pressing herself closer as she felt his touch. “Do you have a preference?”
“It’s whatever you want.” Aubrey tried to offer, though Security Blanket prompted her towards honesty. “I do kind of like looking at your abs.”
“Then I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
She nodded. “I’ll try to get it set up while I’m waiting.”
He came back a moment later to a set of small plates she had spread across the bar top. Different kinds of crackers, cold cuts, grapes, and cut fruit were arranged, the blonde fiddling with their placement as she nudged them in little taps one centimeter at a time until she noticed he had returned.
“Oh, good. You can sit down. Eat what you feel like, the cabana will get rid of anything left over.” She waited for him to settle. “There were a couple things I wanted to ask you about. Do you want the fun question first and then we’ll move on to the important question, or vice versa?”
“Sure.”
She frowned in confusion. “Which one? Fun then important?”
“Yes, sorry.”
“No, it’s ok. The ‘fun’ question was what you guys did last time at the beach while I was busy. Ava told me a bit, but I’m curious what you did. If there’s anything you wanted to do again, or that you didn’t get the chance to do, we can try it?”
“Sure.” He started by telling her about the little tour he’d gone on with Ava and Felicia, meeting Scylla. Her eyes flicked over to glance at where the lifeguard was seated at her station in unease at the myth present, but she looked back as he started talking about how Felicia had begged for a rematch on the second portion of her obstacle course. She’d scowled at his mentioning that the other blonde ‘Kept flashing him,’ but he managed to reassure her with his verbal reinforcement of just how many times she’d lost. How desperate and insistent she’d become, demanding one rematch after another as he and Ava defeated her.
“Do you think I could beat her?” Aubrey slipped the question into his story.
Richard paused, first trying to consider the odds. Aubrey’s a lot more comfortable running and jumping, so probably? She’s always been pretty fast when motivated, and Felicia… keeps complaining about how TFs are slowing her down. Yeah, as I think about it it wouldn’t be close. But then he realized another concern. Would she go around bragging? That’d start yet another fight. But he decided it was probably safe after more consideration. Felicia would have bragged about it, but Aubrey probably would keep it to herself unless it was brought up. “Yeah, I think you’d probably win.”
Aubrey beamed, adding the assurance to a mental trophy collection. “So what happened next?”
“Well, Hazel joined us. After she won six rounds in a row it kind of felt like a fitting point to stop. We moved onto volleyball for a bit before lunch, Ava and I versus Hazel and Hel. Although it may as well have been just Ava and Hazel.”
“That sounds fun. I had a good day with Maeve, but I wish I could’ve been with you guys for that part.”
He nodded. “Then we had lunch, and…” as he heard from Window Pain Test, he suddenly got the feeling the next part would be a problem. “Luna organized a swimsuit contest. I tried to talk them out of it.”
Her reaction was muddled, though better than he’d expected. “Ava mentioned something about that.”
“The audience voted on the results, and possibly because Felicia accidentally doubled Hazel’s boob size-”
Aubrey snorted, nearly choking on a piece of salami.
“-She won, and from what Scylla said apparently she did it pretty easily.”
“Anything else?” His girlfriend asked after settling down from the contest surprise.
“I…” He thought of Stella, her actions being the other most memorable things that’d happened that day.
She’d told him she loved him.
“Richard?” Aubrey took his hand, unsure what was wrong.
“Not much else.” Dick lied. “We went surfing and paddleboarding, some of us tried the main obstacle course. Ava spent a lot of time on the waterslide. Stella made ribs for everyone.”
“That sounds nice. Maybe you could teach me how to paddleboard later?”
“Sure.”
“Do you mind if I move to the important topic?”
“Go ahead.”
“During the Q&A, someone asked us about whether we were interested in children. When we were dating the first time I always sort of assumed we’d get there. Since we’ve never actually talked about it together, I thought I’d ask if that was something you actually wanted.”
Richard nodded. “It’s been on my mind more lately the past couple days.”
“I really think you’d be a great father. I want to be a good mom.”
“Do you… not think you’d be a good mother? He asked. “Because I do. You’re kind and nurturing, a good teacher who isn’t afraid to enforce the rules when necessary. I’ve seen you balance enforcing the rules and guiding people in your teaching, just last week.”
Aubrey shifted, pulling her hand away. “Honestly, while I’m looking forward to it I’m not sure anymore if I’m ready as a person. I’m not the most mature, and… I just think there’s things I should work on about myself. I want to work with Maeve and maybe a couple of the others while we’re here. Between my-” she pivoted. “I’ve heard a lot of stories about bad families among the others, and so I want to make sure I’ve worked on myself to make sure our kids can feel safe and happy no matter what challenges present themselves.”
Richard nodded, not entirely sure what to say.
“But maybe two or three months after we’re home, I’d like to have another conversation again, about whether we both feel ready at that point.”
“I’d like that.”
Aubrey stood up, taking a step away from the snacks. “Want to show me the waterslide then?”
“Sure. Aubs?”
“Yeah?”
Window Pain Test made itself known much louder this time as it mentally grew shrill, but he still felt like it was important to say. “If you ever want to talk about your mom, I’m willing to listen.”
Her smile wavered until she forced it back on. “T-thank you. Maybe another time. Can we get into the water?”
“Of course.”
***
They hadn’t gone to the waterslide right away. They’d taken more time to relax in the water itself after the emotional weight of their conversation at lunch. The tension that had appeared at the end slowly melted away with the waves. They’d spent about thirty minutes playing Marco Polo before getting bored. After that Aubrey had grown curious, so they’d decided to swim to the edges of the beach to see what it was like where the sand met the rest of the island.
That had resulted in Scylla swimming alongside them, ushering them back to the main beach when they’d come too close to the rocky cliff face. The cephalid had stressed the importance of not doing anything to necessitate getting Bo’s attention while they were near her, and so they’d agreed to retreat to the shallow, safe part of the beach where she could scoop them up at the slightest hint of danger. They’d tried fooling around and getting handsy in the shallows as Scylla had suggested, but even Security Blanket wasn’t strong enough to dispel the awkwardness from the lifeguard’s paranoid stare.
So to the waterslide they finally went.
“You said Ava went on this a few times? It’s safe?” Aubrey asked, standing close to him as they saw where the ladder up to the slide met the sand.
He hesitantly nodded, even more nervous than her. He’d forgotten earlier why he hadn’t been on the waterslide much last time. The ladder had to be at least forty feet high, and the one time he’d decided to climb it he’d only gone all the way through because by the time he’d frozen it felt easier than climbing thirty feet down. “She did this at least nine times. I- I think you’d enjoy it. Felicia liked it, from what I saw.”
“Felicia liked it?” Whatever hesitation Aubrey had faded in an instant. She pulled on his arm, trying to bring him to it. “Let’s go together then. You can hold me as we’re going down and-” she turned, having felt his resistance. “Oh. Of course. It’s a bit high isn’t it?”
“Ye- yeah, I’m sorry, babe. I can-”
“You can rest. I won’t make you go up there. I’m going to go up there and show you that it’s safe. If you feel reassured after that, you or us can go up afterward. If you still aren’t comfortable with it, that’s alright too. I love you and given how much you’ve accepted dealing with from me, I want to support this one thing you struggle with.”
His shoulders loosened, letting her take over. “Thank you.”
“Of course, babe. There is something I want you to do.”
“What is it?”
“The slide should let me out over there.” She gestured to the deeper water a stone’s throw away. “Once I get to the top, I want you to wait there and catch me. I’ll come shooting out, and you’ll be ready with your strong, sexy arms to support me.”
“Aubs, I love you but you’re laying it on a little thick.”
“I know I am. But I love you, I want to support you, and I want to make sure you feel appreciated.” She kissed him before prancing to the ladder. As she climbed the rungs she made a point of bending over slightly more than she needed, repeatedly looking back and making eye contact as she stuck out her ass.

He could see that the fabric had given up its fight as they’d been swimming, now firmly lodged between her bare cheeks. She kept climbing up two and three rungs at a time before posing for him again, until she’d made it to the top and posed one more time for him using the top of the ladder. Once firmly at the top, she waved for him to get ready once.
He dashed into the water, trying to find the spot that she’d appear. He positioned himself in front of the slide before backing up, trying to gauge for far and how fast she’d fly until he thought he had the perfect spot. Then he waved back to signal he was ready.
He saw her duck down and disappear right before a shriek started echoing through the slide. The sound let him follow her through the first twist, then the second. Then into the big drop Ava and Felicia had told him about that’d made him feel sick listening to. Then she flew out headfirst in a flash, the slide launching her into his waiting arms.
Aubrey wrapped her arms and legs around him, panting as the adrenaline settled. Exactly as she’d wanted, Richard had waited and was holding her. She pressed even closer, grinding against him as she kissed every inch she could reach on his neck and chin.
Richard tried to keep them both floating in the water as everything made it harder. He was enjoying her kisses, but that he could work with easily enough. He needed to use at least one hand to keep her up, but he was a strong swimmer.
The true distraction was her bare lower lips rubbing against him. He was slowly getting hard in the warm water around them as she ground on him. He tried to keep focused on using his legs to keep them afloat as she made things increasingly difficult.
Her bare lower lips. One more layer of distraction hit him, as his mind caught up with what he was feeling.
Sure enough, he looked past her and saw her bikini bottoms floating in the water behind her, the white string stretched and snapped past its limit.
She caught the look in his eyes and giggled, knowing he’d found out what had happened to her. “I brought spares in case something happened. Hopefully what I bought this morning will fit better. But I probably shouldn’t go on the slide again, right? Unless you want to see if the spares would break too?”
