Awkward Reconnection

Chloe's heart was pounding and was threatening to burst out of her chest. Chloe slowly closed the front door of the cabin and looked around. She saw pictures of the family and Lisa having a great time at some island. However, one picture stood out and was sitting right above the family TV set. It was a picture of Lisa and Zack when they went to the beach with Zack's friends last year. She saw Zack's arms holding Lisa's waist while Chloe, Brandon, Ashley, Heather, Gavin, and Victoria made silly faces at the camera. Chloe felt a pang of jealously when she looked at the picture. Chloe was about to inspect another picture when she heard someone clearing their throat behind her.

Chloe turned around and saw Lisa looking back at her. "Chloe, what are you doing here?"

"Um. The whole group decided to hang around here during the spring break and I came along."

"The whole group..." Lisa repeated silently.

"Is Zack here?" Lisa shyly asked.

"Yeah he is. He is actually out right now." replied Chloe. She didn't feel like telling that Zack was in a relationship with his best friend right now.

Lisa smiled at Chloe's response and just said, "I can't wait to meet and talk with him."

"Do you know if Zack is seeing anyone right now?" Lisa quietly asked.

Chloe's face immediately turned red and stammered out a response, "I don't know but I think he is."

Lisa's face fell including whatever hope of snatching Zack again. Lisa quickly masked her face with a smile and asked Chloe if she wanted to watch some TV shows together. Chloe agreed in order to keep her mind off of Kurt and the awkwardness present in the room right now.
