Chapter 7: An Ambiguous Position
The moment the words left her mouth, she seemed to realize how embarrassing that sounded coming from an eighteen-year-old. She quickly turned her head away, her blush deepening.
“Uh... we were little kids back then,” I said helplessly. “We're basically adults now. Is it really appropriate for an unrelated guy and girl to be sharing a bedroom?”
“Well, what you're saying makes sense,” Sierra nodded thoughtfully, before tossing a teasing smirk over her shoulder. “So if you're too scared to sleep in the same room as me, feel free to grab a blanket and sleep on the living room couch! Nobody's stopping you!”
“Forget it,” I grumbled, caught off guard. “The living room is freezing. I'm staying right here.”
“Exactly!” Sierra laughed softly, clearly pleased with her victory. “You're a grown guy, so why are you acting so fussy? I'm the girl here and I'm not making a fuss, so what are you so afraid of?”
I felt a surge of playful embarrassment.
Fine! If she wasn't worried, why should I be?
Of course, despite my internal bravado, I had no intention of doing anything reckless. Our family dynamic was close, and if I ever crossed a line with Sierra, my parents, Uncle Marcus, and Aunt Sarah would probably skin me alive. Thinking about that cold reality quickly brought my wandering thoughts back to earth.
“Alright, enough talking,” Sierra said, checking her phone screen. “We have school tomorrow, so I'm calling it a night.”
“Wait, you have school tomorrow?” I asked, puzzled. “Isn't tomorrow Saturday?”
“Yeah, Bellevue High is making all seniors come in for a full Saturday review session,” Sierra sighed in frustration. “They want us making a final push for the National Entrance Exam.”
Anyone would be annoyed if their weekend got chopped down to a single day off.
“Got it,” I nodded. “Then I'll take you over to Bellevue on Dad's bike in the morning!”
“Deal!” Sierra smiled happily.
We both climbed into bed without taking off our clothes, keeping a respectful boundary between us. Yet, sharing a pillow with a girl who smelled softly of shampoo made it almost impossible for my mind not to wander.
To be completely honest, of every girl I knew in real life, Sierra was the only one who could even come close to matching Chloe Prescott's beauty. Sometimes I'd even wondered: if I ever had to choose between the two of them, I'd probably pick Sierra without hesitation simply because of how long we'd known each other.
“Sis... you asleep?” I murmured around midnight.
Sierra didn't answer, her breathing soft and even. Disappointed, I let out a quiet sigh, closed my eyes, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, I woke up in a half-conscious state to the warm, quiet sound of Sierra breathing beside me.
Opening my eyes, I found her looking back at me, her cheeks flushed bright red.
I was accustomed to sleeping alone, so suddenly realizing someone was next to me startled me awake. But when I opened my eyes, I saw that the person breathing beside me was Sierra.
She was already awake.
Her watery eyes were looking back at me, impossibly alluring. What surprised me most was that her face was flushed bright red, and the warm breath coming from her mouth seemed scorching hot.
Was she sick?
I was just about to ask when I moved my hand slightly and touched something impossibly soft.
Confused, I tentatively squeezed it.
In an instant, Sierra's face turned an even deeper shade of crimson, and a barely audible gasp escaped her lips.
I might not have had any real-world experience, but I wasn't completely clueless—every guy my age knew a thing or two from late-night internet videos and online stories.
It hit me like a jolt of electricity.
My entire body froze, and I didn't dare move another inch.
Only then did I realize that, sometime during the night, my right hand had somehow slipped beneath Sierra's head, serving as her pillow, while my left hand had slipped beneath her clothes.
Sierra's breasts were truly astonishingly full. I didn't know whether it was because I was inexperienced or simply because I'd never imagined them to be like this.
My leg was draped across her body, pressing the two of us tightly together.
Although the weather in March was still chilly, I felt burning hot at that moment.
I looked into Sierra's eyes. She looked back at me. Neither of us blinked, as if time itself had frozen.
Finally, a sharp knock at the door shattered the quiet.
Sierra scrambled out of my arms and bolted upright, but as she moved, her shirt pulled up, leaving me with a direct, unobstructed view—a bright yellow bra. Easily a 34C.
For a girl our age, Sierra’s figure was honestly incredible.
I had no clue how we’d even ended up sleeping like that overnight. Neither of us had realized her clothes had gotten so disheveled. I quickly glanced down at the two of us—thankfully, our pants were still on. Nothing real had actually happened between us.
After stepping out of the bedroom, we tacitly agreed never to mention what had happened. Sierra's face remained slightly warm through breakfast, but she acted completely normal otherwise.
After eating the breakfast my mother had prepared, I pulled Dad's scooter out of the driveway and gave Sierra a ride over to Bellevue High.
Perhaps because of the awkwardness from earlier, neither of us spoke much during the drive, but as I dropped her off at the school gates, Sierra turned back with a bright, beautiful smile, thanked me, and waved goodbye before hurrying inside.
