"There, the whole story. Would you like to add your side of the story?" Michael said tersely, finishing his painful recollection.

Hannah sat on a big rock, curled up into a guilt-stricken ball, her head buried in her knees.

"... No." She said with a sniff.

Michael stood about 6 feet away from her. His arms folded, too angry at the dug-up feelings to worry about covering himself.

He tried not to look at her as her back heaved in quiet sobs, but to Michael, a crying girl, even the one responsible for ruining his senior year, was a sight he never, ever liked to see.

Hannah lifted her head up and looked forward at nothing in particular, her face stained with tears and a string of snot trailed from her knee to her nose. Her lip quivered and she whimpered, "I'm sorrryyyyy-hheee-hhhheeeehhh..."she sniffed loudly and wiped her nose, "I-I knew I f-fucked you up, but I... God damnit I... hohh, hoh... I'm fucking EVIL! I'm such a stuck-up fucking cunt." as she choked out that last cutting word, her face scrunched up and she wheezed a long, painful sob.

Those weren't crocodile tears, that girl was ugly-crying and despite this literally all being her fault, in his heart, even if it was completely stupid of him to feel it, Michael felt sorry for her. As he looked down at the girl who ruined his life, sitting on the ground, naked and heaving with guilt over what she'd done to him, he realized that he didn't hate her.

He walked over and sat down about a foot away from her on the rock. He sat quietly until her sobs faded a little and he took a slow breath before finally speaking, "Look, you really fucked up. REALLY fucked up. There's a part of me that'll never truly let that go... but... after all this time, after what you tried to do for me back at the party, after all... this. I, well, Hannah, I think.... I think I forgive you."

Hannah sat up and looked at him with disbelief, her eyes red. "What?... you mean it?"

He nodded and said, "Yeah."
