The Good Left Undone

Chapter 53 by Thatguy88

Daemon leaned back in what humans might call his office. Marcus was hurt, weak, possibly dying. This had happened before, he'd barely helped Marcus get started and now how might be demoted again.

"Kill another one?" asked a passing demon with a laugh.

"Come on Marcus," said Daemon, nothing.

"Daemon," he switched frequency, it was the thrall.

"Hey little one," said Daemon, "how is he?"

"I don't know, they took him in an ambulance, there was so much blood."

Daemon could hear the hurt in her voice, he could still sense Marcus but he and Josie could also both feel how weak he was.

"Demon," came a voice.

Daemon shook his head, "witch," he growled, "how are you doing this?"

"Shut it," she snapped, "how do I save him?"

Daemon growled to himself, it was a long shot but five pregnancies and more conquests, the kid had certainly accumulated some power, plus there was the thrall.

"Demon," growled the witch, "answer before I summon you here and trap you in a closet."

"Fuck off," he growled, she could possibly help, "what kind of witch are you?"

"The angry kind," she huffed.

"I mean white magic, dark magic."

"Both," she said.

He grumbled, "then you can't help him, annoyingly we need a white witch, a healer."

"There has to be something," she said her voice cracking.

He thought, "the incubus," he said, "it feeds off of sexual energy, obviously Marcus can't do anything, but anyone who has been with Marcus, if they can generate energy, even people he just likes, like his friend, the wuss, but it's gotta be strong, new, not just a hook up. The thrall, she could really help."

His mind cleared, she was gone, "you're welcome," he grumbled.

Josie sat in the hospital waiting room, they'd all been brought in to be checked out. Kelsi was sitting next to her sobbing, sure she'd only just met Marcus but this was all insane. Anastasia sat across from her covered in blood, the paramedics had had to pry her off of Marcus to help him, now she looked catatonic. Josie for her part wasn't doing much better, she could feel how weak he was and Daemon was characteristically unhelpful. A door opened and Tabitha emerged and took a seat.

"I put the screws to Daemon," she whispered to Josie, "there may be a way we can help, more specifically you."

"Ok," said Josie, "anything."

"You have to feed the incubus," said Tabitha, "sex, something new, wild, preferably with someone or someones Marcus likes on a personal level."

"I'm not really in the mood," said Josie.

"Well we don't really have an option," snapped Tabitha.

The witch looked at Anastasia and Josie could see her wheels turning.

"Anastasia," said Tabitha moving next to the girl, "hey blondie."

Anastasia didn't respond, she was in shock or something like it.

"I need your help," she said, "to help Marcus."

Anastasia turned to her, "what can I possibly do?"

Tabitha grabbed her and dragged her into a supply closet as Kelsi looked at Josie seemingly wondering what the hell had just happened.

There was chaos at the door a moment later, news must travel fast. Katie, Celia, Yasmin, Wei, Lily, Trace, Andy and a girl Josie didn't really recognize all came into the lobby.

"Chica," said Yasmin trying to shut everyone else up, "what happened, where is he, is he ok?"

Josie shrugged, "he's still in surgery."

"Where's Anastasia?" asked Katie, "is she alright."

"She's fine," said Josie, "she went to clean up."

Trace sat next to her and took her hand, "how are you Josie?"

Truthfully, she was pissed, who did these losers think they were to try to take out Marcus and why hadn't he seen the knife.

"I'm ok," said Josie, "Marcus got to us in time."

"He's incredible," said Kelsi.

Everyone found seats and waited, Josie knew what Tabitha had said but she wasn't exactly in the mood given everything. They waited, a bloody doctor came out a moment later to see if any of them were family, when he found they weren't he said something to a nurse and disappeared.

Tabitha had set up two circles near each other in her room. She lit candles around them and instructed Anastasia to sit in one.

"Focus," said Tabitha, "think about Mark, all those feelings you've been suppressing."

"The curse," she offered weakly.

"Will hold," said Tabitha, "he's not here to reciprocate."

Anastasia closed her eyes and focused on Mark.

Tabitha closed her eyes and focused on the group in the hospital lobby, all of them had at least a tinge of the incubus in them and she focused on that passion, fanning it. Wear down the inhibitions, turn up the desire, every kink they were too ashamed to say. She reached out further, his other conquests, every little bit she could ignite.

They were taking the bait, it was working, their minds were going, their bodies would follow. She looked across the room and was almost blinded, Anastasia was giving off and incredibly powerful, pure energy. This was it, the white magic they needed.

"Stay focused Anastasia," said Tabitha, "you're doing incredible blondie."

Josie felt hot, she looked at Trace, she looked at Andy, why was she thinking about being between them?

Celia looked at Katie, she was checking out Lily. They were here for Marcus, but the two of them together, that would be so hot.

Kelsi and Emily's eyes met, neither girl had ever considered another woman, that was until this moment.

Wei locked eyes with Josie, she looked towards Trace, then towards Andy. Josie nodded and each of them grabbed a guy and left the lobby.

Celia whispered to Lily who cocked and eyebrow then looked at Katie with a smirk, the three of them left together.

Emily and Kelsi eye fucked each other until they both seemed to give up resisting and left together.

Yasmin looked around, she was desperately horny but now alone. She looked around the lobby and saw a doctor leaving his shift, that guy, what's his name from freshman year.

It was dark, cold, warmer than it had been. Marcus looked around, he couldn't see much, he could hear beeping, footsteps in the distance.

"Daemon."

"I'm here," the demon's voice echoed in the distance.

"Am I dead?"

"Not yet kid, you're hanging in there."

Marcus wandered through the darkness, he heard pained breathing, it was getting louder. He saw it, a beast, a creature...the incubus, it was wounded, it eyed him warily. Marcus held up his hands and approached slowly. He got down to its level trying to show he wasn't a threat.

"It doesn't look evil," said Marcus.

He reached out slowly and it initially recoiled but soon leaned into him.

"They're not," said Daemon, "they're just animals man, useful animals, but think of it like a dog, it kind of takes on your personality. Most people who get one do it for power, but you didn't."

"Marcus," his mom's voice echoed softly, "Marcus we're here."

A light in the distance, it was so far away but it was piercing, powerful.

"Marcus," came Josie's voice, "I know you're still in there, you've got to come back."

The light got brighter and he moved towards it.

"Marcus," he felt wet, was it raining, "Papi," continued Yasmin's voice, "that appointment is coming up, you promised you'd be there, so you have to pull through."

"Marcus," the voices were closer now, the light was brighter, the incubus followed closely behind him, it wasn't limping quite so badly now, "Marcus, I know we've only really gotten to know each other through sex but you're the first person I ever opened up to who didn't know about me," said Lily.

"Marcus," came a new voice, "we only just met but you saved me, I'm so sorry you got wrapped up in all of this," said Kelsi.

The light was overwhelming now, the voices seemed to be all around him.

"Come on Marcus," said a voice, "Yasmin and I still owe you that threesome, we both need you," said Celia.

He felt a hand on his, black fishnets, pale skin, it took his hand and led him towards the light. The light, another hand, pale, delicate took his other hand. He could feel her, smell her, taste her.

"Stasi?" he mumbled weakly as the hospital room faded into view.

His dad was asleep in a chair next to him, his mom barely conscious in another.

"Oh my god he's awake," his mom rushed out of the room as he surveyed his surroundings.

His side unsurprisingly hurt, his head also hurt, his mouth and throat were dry.

"Welcome back kid," said Daemon, "gave us quite the scare."

***

Tabitha looked at Anastasia, the power around the girl flickered and went out.

"You feel it?" said Tabitha.

Anastasia nodded weakly.

"You did great blondie," said Tabitha, "when you're ready we'll go see him."

Anastasia nodded again and collapsed.

***

His mom came back in with a nurse who checked everything, his vitals were strong but obviously they'd be keeping him for observation.

"Marcus," said his mom taking his hand as his dad took his other, "you really had us worried."

"Sorry," he offered reaching for a cup of water.

"We spoke to Josie," said his mom, "she seems nice, a bit intense. She told us about the fight, about how you saved her."

"She's ok?" he offered, his head was still spinning, his senses a mess.

"She's fine," said his mom, "her and the other one, Chelsea?"

"Kelsi," he offered, "good, I'm glad they're ok."

"Marcus," offered his mom, "after this, after what happened, if you don't want to go back to school."

"What?" he said, "it's fine."

"Marcus, you don't know how many angry parents there were in this hospital," said his dad, "some crazy melee between you and a fraternity and somehow you're the problem, not the victim."

Parents worried about their kids, it made sense, even if those kids had been about to do something heinous.

"Where's Stasi?" he asked, "Josie, Kelsi, can I see them?"

His dad nodded and left the room.

"We haven't seen Anastasia since we got here," said his mom, "the doctors said she was in shock when they brought her in with you, we figured maybe she needed time but her parents haven't been able to find her either."

Josie and Kelsi followed his dad back into the room.

"Marcus," said Josie practically jumping on him though mercifully on his good side, "oh my god you're awake, you're ok."

He held her as tight as he thought he could risk it, "I'm ok Jos, I'm glad you're both ok."

Josie finally released him and stood up only for Kelsi to crash into him kissing his cheek repeatedly, "my fucking hero," she said before looking at his parents, "pardon my French."

"Well," said his mom, "you need your rest, we'll send in the rest of your friends in the morning."

Everyone left and closed the door and a moment later Tabitha let herself in.

"Hey big guy," she said, "scared us all for a minute."

"That was you," he said, "pulling me back."

"I only helped," she said, "guided."

"Anastasia," he said, "it was her?"

Tabitha nodded, "knocked the crap out of her but she grabbed you and wouldn't let go."

"But she's ok?"

"Just exhausted," said Tabitha, "I'll send her through when she wakes up."

She walked to his bad side and procured a ball of light seemingly from nowhere and pressed it to his wound, his side screamed and he strained to stay quiet but he suddenly felt a million times better.

"What was that?" he asked as Tabitha walked to the door.

"A lot of people care about you Marcus," she said, "that was barely a fraction of it."
