What next
Sofia checks on Jay
I catch another clear snippet from the hall.
“Come on, Fifi,” Marisol laughs. “At least tell me he’s good. Because that thing? Ay, Chihuahua!”
Sofia’s response is too quiet to make out, but I swear I hear her sigh. And maybe a little laugh too.
I pause, bracing myself for the possibility of more remarks, and fish my phone out of my pocket. The voices from the kitchen are still going, but I’ve had enough of being the punchline of Marisol’s jokes for one morning.
“Hey,” I say, announcing myself as I step around the corner. “I figure you two have got stuff to talk about, and I don’t know if it’d be good if the kids saw me here. After her comments about Carlos, I’d hate for one of them to say something the next time they see him. So, I’m gonna order a ride and head out. Give you two some space.”
Marisol turns to me first with a grin spreading across her face. Much to my relief, she just turns toward the fridge without a word, popping the door open and bending over to rummage inside. My guess is she’s giving herself an excuse to keep her back to us while she fights not to laugh out loud or say anything else at my expense.
Although her bent over position does show off her ass, partially thanks to the seam running down the middle and separating the two globes. It’s nice. Not as nice as Sofia’s, but it’s nice nonetheless. However, I figure that’s a fair trade because from what I could tell of her boobs, she dominates in that department. And that’s saying something, because I love Sofia’s breasts almost as much as her ass.
Sofia turns toward me blushing. “No,” she says quickly, stepping forward. “You don’t have to get a ride. I’ll take you home.”
I shake my head, opening up the app. “You don’t have to do that. Your kids just got here, and you’ve got stuff going on. I can just–”
“Jay.” Her voice drops, taking a firmer tone. She back glances at Marisol, who’s still keeping herself busy in the fridge, then back to me. “Please. Let me drive you.”
Marisol straightens up with a carrot in hand. She leans back against the far counter, crossing one arm under her chest, smirking, as she bites the tip off the carrot. Then she stands there watching us, like she’s just waiting to see what we do next.
Sofia turns to her sister. “Mari, can you stay for a little bit longer? I’m sure you’ve got stuff to do with your Saturday, but I’ll be back as quick as I can.”
Marisol raises both brows with the carrot halfway to her mouth. “Ohhh, so I watch the boys last night, and then when I bring them home, you want me to watch them here for you too?”
Sofia lets out a long breath through her nose. “Please Mari. He and I need to have a… talk. It’s not like any of this was planned.”
Marisol lets out a delighted snort. “Is that what we’re calling it these days? A talk?” She gestures vaguely in my direction with the carrot. “Are you gonna go have a nice ‘talk’ with it? Although, to be fair that thing was big enough it should probably be charged for its own seat on a plane. Hell, I might even be willing to pay to take a tour of it.” Then she fans herself for dramatic effect.
“Marisol!” Sofia says with a far more warning tone. “You’ve had your fun, but that’s enough. Are you going to help me or not?”
Marisol rolls her eyes dramatically but takes another bite of the carrot and waves a hand. “Fine, fine. Go have your important conversation. I’ll keep the tiny terrors from destroying the house. But only because I love you and you know you’re going to have some explaining to do.”
Sofia shoots her a look that could curdle milk, then turns back to me. “Come on. I just need to finish rinsing off and throw something on. I won’t take long.”
I follow her back upstairs, feeling Marisol’s eyes on my back until I disappear around the corner. Halfway up the steps, her voice floats after us, coming out loud and cheerful.
“Hey, Sof? Do you need me to call Dr. Murphy? I can see if he can squeeze you in for some stitches on the way home!”
Sofia stops dead on the landing, spins, and yells back down, “Marisol! Enough, please!”
“I’m just trying to help out like you asked me to!” Marisol calls up, laughing so hard I can hear the wheeze in it. “Safety first, Fifi! It’s important you take care of yourself down there.”
Sofia mutters something in Spanish under her breath. I don’t understand the words, but I do understand the sharp, exasperated tone. When she glances back though, I see her expression is laced with reluctant amusement. Crossing the entrance into her room, she shuts the door behind us with a firm click. Turning, she gives me a hug, just holding me for a few seconds.
“Sorry about her,” she says finally, opening her eyes to look up into mine. “She… can be a lot. Especially when she knows it’ll get under someone’s skin.”
I manage a weak laugh, squeezing her a little tighter. “I can see that. She doesn’t pull any punches, does she?”
Sofia crosses to the bathroom where the water is still running after she apparently bolted out of it earlier. I realize at that point that I had been so distracted getting dressed that I didn’t even notice it when I came up to get dressed.
“That’s one way to put it,” she mutters, and turns toward the shower.
When she comes out, wrapped in a towel, she heads straight for the closet. Stepping back out, she tosses the towel on the bed and steps a simple sundress, quickly zipping it up in the back. “Just a second and I’ll be ready to go.”
I nod where I’m slumped down on the bed, watching her go over to a large, elaborate dresser. She pulls open a drawer, grabs a simple white thong, and shimmies it up under the dress. No matter how much I’ve seen of her in the last 12 hours, I’m almost disappointed when the dress doesn’t come up high enough for me to see the ass it’s hiding when she tugs the panties into place.
Downstairs, I hear Marisol yelling out to the kids that she’ll let them watch TV in just a few minutes and then she’ll get them some snacks. It’s a completely different tone than she had when she was frantically ushering them away just a short bit ago. Normal mom stuff my brain has a hard time reconciling after what had been spewing out of her mouth.
Sofia, who had gone back into the bathroom, reappears a minute later. Her hair is twisted up in a quick bun, and minimal makeup adorning her face.
She looks at me, and when she catches me watching her, she just blushes.
“Come on,” she says, smiling and holding out her hand. “Let’s get out of here before anything else can possibly happen.”
Taking my hand, Sofia tries to pull me up, but I pull her into my lap instead. She squeals, then settles in, humoring me as she puts her arms around my neck. I lean in and kiss her, placing one hand around her back to hold her hip, and the other on her thigh.
We kiss for about a minute before she squirms away and makes me follow her back downstairs. We sneak past what I guess must’ve been the playroom Marisol mentioned earlier based on the noises coming from it. Then we have to go past Marisol’s grinning stare.
