Riley's Night (IV), Part 2
Andy stood just inside the connecting door, eyes adjusting to the comparative dark. The ocean shimmered blue-black through the glass, speckled with reflected light from the suite lamps. Riley was on the couch, knees to her chest, her whole frame curled sideways into the cushions like she was using the furniture as a second skeleton. Chloe was next to her, one arm snugged around Riley’s back, the other braced across her own thigh, palm flat and steady.
Neither had the TV on. Neither was looking at the ocean, or even at each other. The world was reduced to the couch, the air between them, and the thread of tension that still ran the length of the room.
Chloe saw Andy first, gave him a soft nod, and patted the empty spot beside her. “Hey,” she said, almost whispering. “How’s Laura?”
Andy weighed the answer. He wanted to say fine—wanted it to be enough—but Chloe was asking for something honest, not something neat. “She’s good,” he said, but the words needed more. “Settled. You’d think this was her twentieth time, not the first.”
Chloe’s mouth twitched, almost a smile. “That’s Laura,” she said, her thumb resuming a rhythm against Riley’s arm. “She always acts like she already read the last page of the book.”
Riley didn't look up, but the change in her breathing said she was listening. Andy moved closer, hands in his pockets, and leaned against the back of the sectional. He wasn't ready to sit yet, not until he figured out the gravity of the place.
Some part of him was still standing on the other side of a different conversation, the one he'd just left with Laura, her voice telling him what it would actually take. He didn't have an answer for her yet. He set it down, carefully, intending to pick it back up the next morning, and let himself be here instead.
He said, “JJ was out before she even got to her room. Didn’t even cry when she put him down.”
Riley pulled her knees tighter, then made herself relax them again, almost as if she was running drills on how to exist in a world where this was possible. “Is he warm enough?” she asked, voice thin. “Was he hungry? He didn’t look cold, but—”
“He’s perfect,” Andy said. “He didn’t seem to be hungry. Laura swaddled him in his blanket. I guess the skill came with her medical experience. He probably thinks he’s still in utero.”
Chloe made a soft sound, half a laugh. Riley picked at the hem of her sleeve. “You think Laura’s okay with all of this?” she asked, eyes still fixed somewhere in the middle distance. “I mean, really okay. She doesn’t have to do this, just because it’s—” She stopped, biting down on the rest of the thought.
Andy found himself wanting to close the distance but gave Riley the dignity of space. “She wanted to,” he said, and meant it. “She wouldn’t have offered if she didn’t mean it. Besides, as Consort, she’s technically sharing in my—” He paused, looking for the word, then settled on “Gifts.” “Which means JJ isn’t just behind a locked door tonight. He’s behind Laura. And that’s a pretty strong line of defense, all things considered.”
That got a reaction. Riley finally looked over, and for the first time since the graveyard, there was something fierce in her face that wasn’t just panic or pain. “That’s not what I meant,” she said, but she let it go, the energy draining out with the last word.
Chloe slid her hand up Riley’s arm, working the tightness out of her shoulder in slow, concentric circles. “You want to go check?” she offered. “I don’t think anyone would mind if you—”
“No,” Riley said, more force in it than she probably intended. She closed her eyes, let her head drop back against the cushion, and added, “If I go in there, I won’t come out until morning. He needs sleep, and so do I.”
Chloe nodded and murmured, “If he wakes up during the night because he’s hungry, I’ll take care of it.” She just leaned her head until it touched Riley’s, a gentle contact that spoke in sentences. Andy let himself sit down on the far side of Riley, careful not to make a show of it.
They sat that way for a long stretch—Chloe and Riley bundled together on the couch, Andy anchoring the other end, the room pulsing with a kind of truce.
After a while, Chloe asked, “How are you holding up?” The question could have been for either of them, but the direction of her voice made it clear it was for Riley.
Riley exhaled, then said, “I don’t know. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. For someone to come in and say it was all a mistake. Or a trick, or a dream.” She flexed her hand, like she was checking for feeling. “I keep trying to think of what John would have said if he saw me tonight. I don’t know if he’d be proud or just confused.”
Chloe didn’t flinch from the pain in the answer. She squeezed Riley’s arm and said, “He’d probably just be glad you got your little guy back. That’s the kind of person he was, from the way you described him.”
Andy noticed the way Riley’s whole body reacted, the sharp inhale, then the careful release of air. He let it stand without needing to chime in. Instead, he reached over and put his hand over Riley’s, palm to the back of her knuckles.
“I got my little guy back,” she repeated, voice small and on the verge of breaking. “I did, didn’t I?” Riley didn’t move at first, but after a few seconds, her fingers turned over and gripped his, hard.
“You did,” Andy said.
Riley was quiet for a moment. Then: “I keep thinking I’m going to wake up.”
“You’re not going to wake up,” Chloe said, from her other side.
“You don’t know that.”
“I know you’ve been awake for about nineteen hours and you’re still here, so statistically—”
Riley made a sound that was almost a laugh. “That’s not how statistics work.”
“I know,” Chloe said. “I was hoping you wouldn’t notice.”
Riley looked down at Andy’s hand over hers, then sideways at Chloe, then back at some middle point between them. “You sure this isn’t too weird for you?” she asked Andy, something between apology and challenge. “I know you weren’t planning on—”
“Riley.” He waited until she looked at him. “I’m exactly where I want to be.”
She studied his face for a moment like she was checking for the seam, the place where the sincerity gave out. She didn’t find it. Her grip loosened, fingers shifting from clamp to link.
“Okay,” she said, quietly. “Okay.” She leaned back into the cushion, her shoulder finding Chloe’s, her hand still loosely threaded through Andy’s. “I’m not going to make a whole thing of it. I’m just glad you’re both here.”
Chloe pressed her lips together, suppressing something. “No whole things,” she said. “Noted.”
The room settled. The ocean moved behind the glass, low and patient, and for a while nobody needed to say anything at all.
It was Chloe who finally moved first. She didn't say anything clever or try to lighten it. She just started drawing slow circles across Riley's back again, the way she had all night, except this time she didn't stop after a minute. Riley let her keep going. That was the difference, Andy thought — not that anything had changed, but that Riley had stopped fighting the comfort being offered her. Her shoulders lost their set by degrees, her knees uncurled, her feet found the floor.
He looked at her, waiting to see if she’d pull back. She didn’t. Instead, she turned, shifting her whole body so she faced him, chin resting on her folded arm. Her eyes looked impossibly tired, but she was fully awake in them.
Chloe watched them, her own posture settling into something softer, like she’d finally passed the baton and was allowed to be a participant instead of a caretaker. She murmured something to Riley, words too low to catch, and Riley’s lips twitched into a private smile. The change in her breath was immediate—slower, fuller, something in her finally settling instead of bracing.
Andy watched it happen, careful not to rush. He moved closer only when Riley shifted toward him, her hand traveling from his knee to his chest. He could feel the expectation in the air—not sexual, exactly, but the kind of wanting that doesn’t need to be named.
When she tipped her face up, Andy met her lips, slow and light at first, like he was still making sure this was the right page. Riley kissed him back, not tentative but not urgent, her hand fisting his shirt as if needing the anchor.
They stayed like that for a while—three people on a couch, the ocean at their backs, and the baby asleep in the room next door, proof that the impossible wasn’t just a story.
When the kiss finally broke, Andy opened his eyes and found both Chloe and Riley watching him. There was a silence, but it was the kind that asked nothing and offered everything.
Chloe let out a breath, and Andy saw in her face a kind of peace that hadn’t been there at the start of the night. Riley smiled, small and honest, and said, “Thanks.” Not for the kiss, but for a gift neither of them had ever expected he could give her.
Andy nodded, squeezed her hand, and leaned back.
The sound of the elevator doors opening split the quiet, sharp and bright. Andy straightened without meaning to, the old neural wiring of threat-and-opportunity still running under everything else. Riley caught it and blinked, the movement so subtle he almost missed it. She didn’t let go of his hand, her grip tightening. The three of them turned, as one, to the elevator alcove just off the main living room.
The doors slid back, and Emily stepped out, haloed by the light from the elevator. Her hair was down, flowing in pink-and-blonde waves almost to her thighs, and it covered her chest just enough to leave everything up to the imagination. If she was nervous, she didn’t hide it well—she scanned the room, caught all three sets of eyes at once, and then managed a little wave.
Chloe was the first to speak. “Em!” Her voice was delighted, not the least bit thrown. She wiggled her fingers in a come-here motion, as if Emily needed any more encouragement to join a party she hadn’t known was happening.
Emily blinked, startled, and then stepped into the room. Her gaze went to Andy, and when it landed she grinned, a real one, but tinged with uncertainty. “Hi. I, um… hope I’m not late?”
Andy blinked, genuinely off-guard, at the sight of Emily in the living room. It wasn't just the hair—though that always stole attention, the way it flowed, gold-and-pink, obscuring and hinting all at once—but that he'd locked in the rhythm of the night with the two women beside him. Emily wasn't on his roster for tonight.
Emily's face did a weird origami of delight, nerves, and did I just walk into the wrong room? Her feet wanted to hover at the threshold, but instead she went all-in, one step, two, and stopped just inside the carpet border. She looked directly at Andy, but her eyes flicked, almost too quick to catch, to Riley and then Chloe.
Chloe, radiant with the success of a prank only she’d been planning, said, “You’re exactly on time!” She didn’t get up—she just patted the cushion beside her with a small, impish smile. “C’mon, Em, we were just getting started.” It was the tone she used for children, or for people who didn’t realize they were already included.
Emily’s face went cherry blossom pink at the invitation, and her fingers toyed with a lock of her hair, winding it around one finger for dear life.
Andy watched Riley’s reaction, expecting confusion or even territorial edge, but Riley just leaned back and appraised Chloe with a long, slow blink. “You planned this,” she said. “Don’t deny it.” Her voice had a thread of accusation, but there was a smile knotted into it, half-hidden.
Chloe’s shoulders went up, like she’d been caught with her hand in a cookie jar. “I mean, you did sort of dare me, after lunch, when you said—” she stopped herself, glancing at Emily. “Well. You remember.”
Riley snorted, turned to Andy. “Chloe made a joke. After lunch. I didn’t think she would take it literally.”
Chloe shrugged, turned to Emily, and said, “Did you want me to take it literally? Or should I send Riley back to the conspiracy board?”
Emily’s blush deepened, but she didn’t retreat. She looked at Riley, then Chloe, then Andy. “I mean, yeah? I mean, yes.” She took a breath. “But I didn’t want to—” she lost the thread, then found it again, “—but if you want me to go, I totally can.”
Riley let the moment hang, the kind of silent pause that could go nuclear or neutral at any second. She said, “You know what? I don’t hate it. I just like being in the loop.” Her eyes lingered on Chloe, then flicked to Emily. “You want to sit down?” She said it plainly, the edge gone from her voice.
Chloe patted the couch again, more insistent this time. “Please?”
Emily drifted forward, not quite floating but close, and landed in the open spot on the couch—two cushions down from Riley, one from Chloe, and opposite Andy. She tucked her legs up under herself, the way she always did when she wanted to look smaller, and made a point of wrapping her arms around her knees.
For a moment, nobody spoke. The ocean pressed in against the windows, and the only sound was Emily’s hair sliding against her shoulders as she fidgeted in her seat.
Riley broke the silence. “So, whose idea was this? Yours, Chloe, or did Emily self-invite as backup?”
Chloe grinned, unbothered. “Mine. I went and found her while you two were getting ready for dinner.” She tipped her chin at Emily. “I just asked if she’d be open to it, and she said yes.”
Emily nodded, confirming. “Yeah. She just asked.” She risked a glance at Andy, then Riley. “But only if it wasn’t weird.”
Andy shook his head, quick and easy. “Not weird. It’s just… a surprise.” He tried to smile in a way that would read as reassurance. “I’m glad you’re here.”
Riley appraised Emily for a long moment, and then, with the crispness of someone calling a play, said, “Are you really? Or are you just being polite?” The question wasn’t barbed. It was an honest question.
Andy studied her a half-beat before answering. “Really,” he said. He could feel Chloe watching his face, and he didn’t bother to hide his intent. “I wasn’t expecting it, but I like that you’re here. I want you here.”
Emily’s hand, which had been nervously winding a lock of hair around her finger, loosened, and for a split second she looked just like herself—no extra layers of self-consciousness or performative submission. She glanced at Chloe, and then at Riley, and settled on Andy with a look that wanted to believe him. “Good,” she said, quiet. “Because I was nervous you might not.”
Riley grunted, almost a laugh. “He’s not the one you should be nervous about,” she said. “I just don’t love surprises unless I’m the one running them. But you’re good, Emily. You always have been.” She caught the note of relief in Emily's face, then added, quieter, “This is also about the other day. Isn't it.”
It wasn't really a question. Emily's hands stilled in her lap. “Yeah,” she admitted. “That's part of it. I've been thinking about it since it happened.” She glanced at Chloe, like she was asking permission to keep going, then looked back at Riley. “I still don't know how much of that kiss was you, and how much was just my transformation making the decision for you. And I know that's a weird thing to bring up right now, but I didn't want to pretend it wasn't part of why I said yes to coming up here.”
Riley considered that for a second, something unguarded moving behind her eyes. “I've asked myself the same thing,” she said. “More than once. I still don't have a clean answer. I just know I wanted it, at the time, and I haven't managed to regret it since.” She let that sit, then nodded once, like she was closing the subject without dismissing it.
Chloe patted the couch again, just to make sure the point was driven home. “You can sit closer, if you want.” There was a gentle invitation in it—almost a dare, but a safe one.
Emily looked at Andy for permission, which was so like her that he couldn’t help but smile. He tapped the empty space next to him, and she slid in, her knee pressed against his thigh, pink-and-gold hair draped over her shoulder in a kind of accidental curtain.
Chloe watched the two of them with an open delight, her own body language gone loose now that the group dynamic had stabilized. Emily seemed to shrink a little, her posture folding inward with a mix of relief and embarrassment. “I’m glad to be here,” she said, looking at Andy. “But I want to be clear, before anything else happens.” Her voice wobbled, but didn’t break. “I like all of you. I think this could be fun. But you’re who I really want, Andy.” She met his eyes, then looked at Chloe and Riley, and didn’t flinch away. “If that’s weird, or if you want me to go, just say it.”
It landed with the force of truth. Andy felt the hair on his arms stand up. “It’s not weird,” he said. “And I don’t want you to go.”
Riley watched the exchange, and her smile went from amused to… softer, maybe. Like she’d found a version of herself that could be okay with being wanted, even if it wasn’t exclusively. “That’s honest,” she said. “I like it. I don't mind that.”
Chloe, for her part, just looked happy. “That’s two for two on emotional clarity tonight,” she said. “I’m feeling very outclassed.”
Emily said, “You’re not. I’m just… really, really bad at pretending not to care about things.”
Riley’s gaze sharpened, just a touch. “You’re good at not pretending,” she said. “That’s the real skill.”
A comfortable silence settled, the four of them arrayed on the couch, the world outside reduced to the hush of the sea and the faint buzz of hotel electricity. Andy thought he could sit like this all night, but the energy in the room said otherwise.
Emily, emboldened by the acceptance, leaned her head against Andy’s shoulder, her hair falling across his chest like a silk scarf. She did it gently, checking first, but when Andy tipped his head toward hers she smiled, eyes closed, and let herself rest there.
Chloe, ever the diplomat, broke the next silence. “Do you want to talk about it, or… just go with it?”
Emily, eyes still closed, said, “I think I’d like to just go with it.” She opened her eyes, looking up at Andy. “Is that okay?”
Andy nodded, then, because words would just fumble the moment.
Riley rolled her eyes, but affectionately. “You two are hopeless,” she said. “But that’s fine. It’s been a day for that.”
Chloe shot her a look. “You say that like you aren’t the most hopeless one here.”
Riley smirked. “I’m a different flavor of hopeless.”
Emily giggled, a sound that vibrated through Andy’s shoulder and down his whole side. “I think that’s a good thing,” she said, and then, as if she couldn’t hold it in: “I’ve never been in a room with this much honesty before.”
“Is it too much?” Andy asked, amused.
Emily shook her head. “It’s… perfect. I feel like I can breathe again.”
That settled it. Andy reached up and tucked a strand of Emily’s hair behind her ear. She leaned into the touch.
Riley let the moment hang, then sat up and swung her legs around, putting both feet on the floor. “I’m done with this couch,” she announced. “We’ve done enough talking for a year.” She stood, turned, and extended her hand toward Andy. “You coming, or what?”
He took her hand. The motion pulled Emily with him, since she didn’t let go of his arm.
Chloe followed, one hand on Riley’s shoulder, the other on Emily’s back, herding everyone toward the bedroom like a practiced stage manager.
As they moved, Emily’s hair brushed Andy’s cheek, soft and faintly static, and she whispered, “Thank you.” Her hand lingered on his, fingers laced through his, even as they crossed the threshold into the new space.
It was a relay of sorts, everyone passing intent and permission forward, until the four of them stood just inside the bedroom door. The bed was made up, perfectly, as always. The air was thick with ocean and the salt of recent emotion.
The room was bigger than it needed to be, a soft-lit ocean box with a bed so wide it seemed to ignore the concept of limits. Riley crossed the threshold first, walking straight to the mattress and sitting on the edge with a kind of heavy intent, elbows on knees, spine curved like a comma. Andy followed, hovering for half a second before joining her, close enough that their knees touched.
Chloe and Emily drifted in after, the door swinging shut on a pulse of salt and ozone. For a second, no one moved. Then Andy, because the energy called for it, shifted so that he was facing Riley. She looked up, caught his gaze, and held it—no softening, no dramatics, just a direct link from her eyes to his.
He slid a hand along her back, feeling the tension there like wire, then pulled her gently into his lap. Riley straddled him, knees on either side, settling with a careful exhale. Her arms came up around his neck, but they didn’t pull tight; they just hung there, as if needing a minute to recalibrate from “survive” to “connect.” For a long moment, that was all: two bodies in contact, not moving, the only sound her breathing and the faint hush of the surf outside.
Chloe watched from a pace behind, then circled to kneel on the mattress behind Riley. “Can I do something about this?” she said, lifting a section of Riley’s hair between thumb and forefinger. “I feel like it’s got a whole day of go-kart in it.”
Riley smirked, not looking away from Andy. “If you can untangle it without scissors, be my guest.” She tilted her head back, granting Chloe full access.
Chloe started at the roots, working her fingers through the dark mass, unthreading the elastic that held the last scraps of a ponytail in place. She was gentle, methodical; when she hit a snag, she’d tease it out slowly, never yanking. Riley's hair twitched in pleasure. Once the tie was gone, Riley’s hair fell all at once, heavy and glossy, a river that spilled halfway down her back. Near the ends, a few strands curled in on themselves, alive with the same motion that animated her moods. Riley didn’t comment, but Andy could feel the change in her posture as Chloe’s hands moved: little tremors of relaxation, the spine slowly realigning.
Emily hovered near the foot of the bed, arms crossed under her chest, watching the group dynamic like a new dancer reading the room. She wanted to join, Andy could tell, but the choreography hadn’t offered her a place yet.
Chloe noticed, too. She reached over Riley’s shoulder, caught Emily’s wrist in a loose grip, and guided her around to the other side. “You’re allowed to touch,” Chloe said, her voice a practiced balm. “Or just watch. Either way, it’s not an audition.”
Emily grinned, nerves sparking. “I don’t want to mess up the vibe.”
“You aren't going to,” Chloe said, and that seemed to do it.
Emily settled on the bed, mirroring Chloe’s position on the other side of Riley. For a second, all four were a chain: Andy and Riley at the center, Chloe and Emily on either side, hands and knees and strands of hair forming a kind of low-voltage circuit.
Riley’s head was tipped back, her eyes still half-lidded from the sensation of Chloe’s fingers working the knots free. Her breath had slowed, but when Andy looked closer he saw the set of her jaw, the way she was still holding herself in check.
He touched her cheek, gentle. “Hey. You okay?”
Riley nodded. Then, voice low, she said, “I’m fine. I just—” She didn’t finish, but the look she gave him said the rest.
Andy leaned in, his mouth close to her ear, and whispered: “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. If you’d rather just be with us tonight, just say.”
For the first time since the evening started, Riley smiled, small and real. “No. I want this. All of it. I need to feel something with my whole body tonight that isn’t fear, or grief, or… whatever else.” It was probably the most vulnerable Andy had ever seen Riley be. She looked at Chloe, then Emily, then back to Andy. “I want to feel wanted. By all three of you. Is that okay?”
Andy didn’t answer with words. He just drew her closer, until their foreheads touched, then kissed her—slow, unhurried, but with an intensity that didn’t ask or apologize. Riley melted into it, her arms finally tightening around him.
Chloe’s hands slid from Riley’s hair to her shoulders, kneading out the tension there one circle at a time. She didn’t press for more; she just worked, slow and steady, until the rigidity drained away and Riley’s back went soft in Andy’s hands.
Emily, always careful, started with the lightest touch: a palm to Riley’s thigh, resting just above the knee. When Riley didn’t flinch, Emily pressed a kiss to Riley’s bare shoulder, lips lingering. Then another, higher up, just at the base of the neck. She watched Riley’s face for any sign this was too much, but all she got was a shiver, the good kind.
Andy felt Riley’s whole body loosen by increments, each one a little surrender. When the next kiss landed, this one from him, she opened for it, her hand threading into his hair. For a second, it was just the two of them, the rest of the world erased.
But Riley broke the kiss, and without looking, reached behind her and grabbed Chloe’s hand. She laced their fingers together and squeezed. Chloe, surprised, smiled and squeezed back.
Emily, seeing the invitation, moved in closer, her side pressed flush to Riley’s. She didn’t try to kiss her again; she just rested her head on Riley’s shoulder, watching the two of them in front like a member of the same species, not an outsider.
No one was in a hurry. There was no checklist, no rush to the finish line. The four of them sat, touching in small ways, heat building with the patience of people who knew the night was theirs. Riley’s breathing changed first, deeper now, almost a hum in the back of her throat. Then her posture shifted: she rolled her hips forward, pressing into Andy, her hands greedy on his back. She let out a low sound—pleasure, or relief, or both.
Andy let himself feel it, all the way. He reached for Riley’s waist, drawing her closer, and this time when he kissed her it was hungrier, matched by the pressure of her lips on his. Chloe’s hands, never idle, traced the line of Riley’s spine, then drifted lower, a slow exploration that ended at the edge of her shirt.
Emily’s hand moved from Riley’s thigh to Andy’s, squeezing gently, just enough to remind him she was there, part of the circuit. She looked up at Riley, eyes bright and full of permission. “Can I—?” she started, but Riley was already nodding, pulling her in for a kiss.
It was new for both of them, but neither pulled back. The kiss was gentle, more about comfort than conquest, and when they broke apart, both were smiling, shy and proud at the same time.
Clothes came off in stages, no rush. Andy’s shirt went first, Riley’s hands already under the hem before he’d decided to take it off. When his chest was bare, she flattened both palms to it, tracing the path of his muscles and the memory of every prior touch. The gesture was both possession and reassurance—her own way of confirming he was real, solid, and not about to vanish like a dream.
Chloe reached behind herself, popped the clasp on her bra with an expertise that bordered on performance, and let it drop onto the nightstand. She shimmied it down her arms, then turned her full attention to Riley’s shirt, working at the buttons with an exaggerated focus. “Who designs shirts like this?” Chloe complained, even as her fingers flicked the fastenings one by one. “It’s like a button lottery. Lose your place and you have to start over.”
Riley laughed, high and bright. “Just rip it if you’re going to complain.”
“Not my style,” Chloe said, and kept at it. She finally freed the last button, peeled the shirt off Riley’s shoulders, and let it puddle behind her. Riley’s skin prickled in the air, the shift from clothed to exposed more sensation than embarrassment.
Emily was already nude, her hair falling in strategic curtains across her chest. She reached up, gathered it all in one hand, and twisted it into a loose knot at the back of her head — an unselfconscious gesture, the kind you make when you’re done hiding. The three of them sat there for a moment, and Riley looked from Chloe to Emily to herself and let out a short laugh. “Arabella really had a type in mind when she cast this show,” she said.
Chloe glanced down, then back up, grinning. “Don’t complain.” She looked at Andy, who felt himself coloring slightly, “I’m pretty sure it’s all to appeal to his tastes.”
Emily moved in closer, her shoulder pressing against Chloe’s as the three women formed a crescent in Andy’s lap. She waited, hesitant at first, but when Chloe turned and kissed her, Emily melted into it, hands going right for Chloe’s waist. They held the kiss for a long time, exploratory at first, then surer, tongues meeting, hands growing bolder.
Riley watched, her head tilted to the side, eyes bright. Something in her face cracked open a little more, letting something old and hungry climb out from where it had been hiding. She let her hand roam up Andy’s neck, fingers tangling in his hair, and whispered in his ear: “You’re not going to let them have all the fun, are you?”
Andy growled, low, and caught her mouth in a kiss. She tasted like steak and salt, the after-burn of adrenaline still alive in her tongue. He pulled her closer, one hand on the small of her back, the other slipping down to her ass, squeezing hard enough to make her gasp. “Not a chance,” he said, when they broke for breath.
Riley: Groped by the Master! +2 VP
Chloe and Emily had moved on to each other’s bodies, Chloe’s hands mapping the arc of Emily’s hip, Emily’s fingers tracing the lines of Chloe’s spine. They didn’t compete with Riley and Andy so much as harmonize, the rhythm of their own foreplay setting a tempo for the room. Emily’s mouth found the top of Chloe’s breast, kissing it, then flicking her tongue over the nipple, slow and reverent. Chloe arched into the touch, eyes fluttering shut, a small noise escaping from deep in her chest.
Riley, never content to watch for long, reached out and drew Chloe back in by the hip, sandwiching her between herself and Andy. The three of them pressed together, bare skin on bare skin, the heat from their bodies building until it felt like the air itself was thick enough to drown in. Chloe leaned back, resting her head on Riley’s shoulder, letting Riley kiss the side of her neck while Andy’s hands worked her thighs open.
Emily watched them, hunger naked in her face, but not left out. She edged in, hands roaming, seeking points of contact. When Andy turned and pulled her onto his lap as well, she straddled him gladly, her thighs bracketing his and her arms looping around his neck. She kissed him, open-mouthed and eager, her hips moving in small, automatic circles.
The four of them found a gravity together, a way of fitting that didn’t leave anyone outside the orbit. Andy’s hands were everywhere: gripping Riley’s hips, tracing the curve of Chloe’s thigh, squeezing Emily’s ass. Every time he touched one of them, the others seemed to feel it, the current running through the tangle of bodies like an electrical net.
Emily: Groped by the Master! +2 VP
Riley was the first to start panting, every exhale a little louder, a little more urgent. Her hands gripped the sheets, then Chloe’s hair, then the sheets again, like she was fighting the urge to just lose herself. Her hair twitched like tentacles, strands of it wrapping around Chloe’s waist, Andy’s ankles, Emily’s thighs. “Don’t stop,” she said, breathless. “God, don’t stop.”
Chloe smiled, teeth showing, and redoubled her efforts, her hands working Riley’s breasts, thumbs circling the nipples until Riley shuddered. Emily pressed in from the other side, kissing Riley’s shoulder, then down her arm, then lower, always careful, always seeking permission before pushing farther.
Andy kissed Riley again, and this time she opened for him completely, her whole body straining to be closer. When she pulled away, she stared at him, pupils blown wide, a tiny edge of panic in her voice. “Are you—are you okay with this? With all of us?”
Andy nodded, no hesitation. “I want all of you. All at once.”
That was the passcode. The brakes came off.
Chloe was the first to push things to the next level, sliding her hand between Riley’s legs and working her fingers there, slow but insistent. Riley let out a strangled noise, her head snapping back. Emily watched, then mirrored the motion, her own hand sneaking down to tease Chloe. Andy focused on Riley, kissing her, his hands roaming, and soon the three women were stacked together, each one giving and receiving at the same time.
The room dissolved into sensation. Hair and skin and sweat and salt. Riley’s hair, long as a river, snaked around Andy’s wrist, wrapping around his cock, pulling him deeper into the tangle. Chloe’s laugh, low and delighted, as Emily found her most sensitive spot.
Andy pulled Riley closer, his mouth finding her breast, tongue circling slow before he drew her nipple in and sucked, firm and deliberate. Riley went rigid. Her hand flew to the back of his head, fingers locking in his hair, holding him there. He felt the exact moment it became too much — the sharp intake of breath, the way her thighs seized around him, the low moan that climbed until it broke open. Her whole body shuddered in his lap, legs clamping down hard, and she buried her face in his neck, breath coming in ragged sobs.

Emily, not to be outdone, ground herself against Andy’s thigh, then leaned over to kiss Riley, their mouths crashing together in a wet, desperate way. Andy could feel the heat of Emily’s cunt on his skin, the way she trembled when he moved just right.
Chloe, riding the wave, found her own pleasure in the tangle, her hand never leaving Riley, even as Andy reached down and brought her to climax too. Chloe cried out, the sound muffled by Riley’s shoulder, and for a moment, all four were locked together, each chasing the same storm front.
When it finally eased, they collapsed in a heap, Riley half on top of Andy, Chloe sprawled behind, Emily draped over all three like the last blanket on earth.
There was a silence, bright and clean, the kind that only exists after you’ve burned everything else down.

Riley was the first to speak. “Holy shit,” she said, her voice hoarse. She buried her face in Andy’s chest, then looked up at the others, a dazed smile on her lips. “Did anyone else feel like we were going to light the bed on fire?”
Chloe laughed, rubbing her eyes. “I’m pretty sure we did. If there was a smoke alarm, it’d be screaming right now.”
Emily giggled, soft and happy, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on Andy’s stomach. “I’ve never—” She stopped, shook her head, and just smiled.
Andy, speechless for once, wrapped his arms around all three, holding them tight. “That was…” He gave up on words. “Perfect,” he finished, and it was.
They lay like that for a long time, not talking, just sharing the air and the heat, the hush of the ocean and the weight of what they’d done.
Riley, drifting somewhere between sleep and afterglow, said, “I needed this. Thank you. All of you.”
Emily squeezed his hand, Chloe kissed his cheek, and Andy just let himself feel it, the gravity of four bodies pressed together in a universe that, for one night at least, didn’t require explanation.
