Who did he bump into
A complicated love story
Jessie Chambers walked fast down the sidewalk with the folded note tucked deep in her cleavage. The push-up bra did its job, giving her modest chest a little extra shape under the fitted white blouse. The dark denim skirt hugged her hips and rode just high enough that she kept tugging it down out of habit. Her straight black hair framed her face in a neat bob with bangs, and she kept biting her lower lip the way she always did when she was nervous.
Twenty-six years old and still acting like a teenager about this.
Maya Reyes. Thirty. The woman who had babysat her for years, coached her through every scraped knee and bad grade, the one Jessie had quietly loved for as long as she could remember. Maya had always been kind, always protective, always just a little out of reach. Four years older. Basically a big sister. Jessie had planned to finally say something years ago, rip the bandage off, ask if there was any chance Maya felt the same even if she might not be into girls.
She had been too late.
Her own friend Tara, only a year older than Jessie and another girl Maya had once babysat, got there first. Confessed. And Maya said yes. Jessie had smiled and hugged them both and said all the right things while something inside her folded up and went quiet. Later Tara let slip the part that hurt the most. Maya had admitted she once felt something special for Jessie too, but the age gap and not knowing if Jessie liked women had made her stay in the safe role of guardian instead. She had promised she would always protect her.
Now Maya was a professional boxing coach with the arms and shoulders to prove it. She and Tara had adopted a daughter who had just turned eighteen. Jessie was still the leftover friend who got the leftover feelings.
Not anymore.
She was going to ask for a three-way relationship. If that was too much, she would ask the blunt question instead. Maya, please adopt me. You said you always wanted to protect me. If you cannot love me as a lover then love me as a daughter. I do not want to leave you.
Jessie pulled the note out again, eyes flicking over the words she had rewritten three times, then stuffed it back between her breasts. She was so focused on the paper and the speech in her head that she never saw the other person until they collided hard.
Both of them went down in a tangle of limbs and surprised sounds.
Jessie landed on her side, skirt riding up. She scrambled up fast, barely glancing at the guy she had hit.
“Watch it,” she muttered, already brushing dirt off her skirt and adjusting the blouse. She did not take the hand he offered. “I’m in a hurry.”
The guy said something polite. Jessie did not really hear it. Her phone buzzed. She pulled it out while already starting to walk again.
Maya’s message sat on the screen.
Oh you’re coming? Please do. I’ll take care of you. I will always take care of you.
Jessie’s pulse jumped. She started talking more to herself than to the stranger still standing there.
“She’s waiting. I have to get there before I lose my nerve again and—”
Everything stopped.
Joseph stood over the frozen East Asian woman on the sidewalk and felt the usual clean rush of control settle across the street. Jessie Chambers, according to the ID in the little purse that had spilled open. Twenty-six. Neat black bob. Modest chest pushed up by the bra she had clearly chosen on purpose. Denim skirt tight across her ass. A folded piece of paper half visible between her breasts.
Perfect distraction.
He crouched, tugged the note free, and read it while the world stayed silent. The handwriting was careful and a little shaky. All the confession, the three-way idea, the backup plea to be adopted so the older woman would keep protecting her. Joseph snorted.
He unlocked the phone with her frozen face, scrolled through the photos. Dozens of the same strong-looking Latina woman in her late twenties or early thirties. Short dark curls, solid arms, coach’s posture. Maya Reyes, boxing coach. Married to someone named Tara. An eighteen-year-old girl appeared in the more recent pictures, smiling beside them.
Joseph looked back at Jessie’s blank face, still mid-sentence, mouth slightly open.
“You really like her. You stalk her photos and everything. She looks like a brick house.” He whistled low. “And her wife, your friend, got there first. Classic. She said she would take care of you. Let’s see if she can protect you from joining the collection.”
He stood Jessie up, brushed the dirt off her skirt, and walked her a short distance to a quieter side street where no one would notice a missing pedestrian for a while. There he took his time. The push-up bra came off first. Her modest breasts were soft and warm under his hands. The skirt and panties followed. He posed her against a brick wall, legs slightly apart, arms at her sides, and used her while he scrolled further through the phone.
When he finished he left her standing there, cum still visible on her stomach, and typed a reply to Maya with Jessie’s phone.
On my way. Can’t wait to see you. Bringing a friend who wants to meet you too.
He hit send, locked the phone, and slipped it back into the frozen girl’s hand.
“Maybe I take the wife as well,” he said to Jessie’s empty eyes. “See how she likes losing both the lover and the girl she swore to protect. Or maybe I just collect the coach straight up and let you watch. The eighteen-year-old can wait her turn. I'll get her too.”
Maybe he should collect everyone from this big powerful woman that all these others are so enamored by, see how she protects her lover, her daughter her potential new flame or daughter. Something told him this Maya woman would've accepted her either as a lover or as a daughter/sister and let her live with them. But it doesnt matter. Now he's involved.
