Your hand finds hers, the leather of her glove cool against your palm. The moment your skin makes contact, that warmth coursing through your body intensifies into something almost unbearable—not painful, but overwhelming in its pleasantness. You try to pull back, to shake off the fog that seems to have wrapped itself around your thoughts, but your muscles won't obey.

"Ah," Miss Velvet says, her smile widening as she sees the confusion flicker across your face. "There it is. That moment of recognition." She doesn't release your hand; instead, she interlaces her fingers with yours, her grip firm and possessive. "You're wondering why you can't seem to resist me, aren't you, John?"

She gestures with her free hand toward your drink, still sitting on the bar. "That lovely cocktail our bartender prepared for you contained something special. Nothing harmful, I assure you—I would never damage such promising material. But it does make you so wonderfully... receptive."

Your analytical mind screams at you, trying to process this information, to formulate a response, to do anything other than stand there holding her hand. But the signals from your brain seem to dissolve before they reach your body.

"Don't fight it," she purrs, beginning to lead you away from the bar. You follow, your legs moving automatically despite every instinct telling you to run. "You admitted you wanted to let go, remember? I'm simply helping you achieve that desire. For the next few minutes, you're going to follow me very obediently up to my private chambers. We're going to have a conversation about your future—a very important conversation."

She guides you through the crowd, which parts effortlessly before her. The music pounds in your ears, the lights seem too bright, and you're acutely aware of every sensation—the pressure of her hand in yours, the brush of bodies as you pass, the heat building in your core.

"You see," she continues as you reach the base of the spiral staircase, "I saw something in you the moment you walked through my doors tonight. Potential. A canvas waiting for an artist's touch." She pauses on the first step, turning to look down at you with those unsettling pink eyes. "When the drug wears off in about five minutes, you'll have full control of yourself again. And then I'm going to make you an offer, John. An offer that will change everything about who you are."

She tugs gently on your hand, and you ascend the stairs behind her, unable to do anything but follow.
