"War spreads across the galaxy like a plague, and nowhere is this more evident than at Kessel. The Pykes, ruthless masters of the spice trade, have turned this mining world into a fortress of exploitation, its brutal slave labor fueling the Separatist war machine. Now, the Republic has dispatched a fleet to break this chokehold, but the Pykes have secrets of their own..."

---

Alarms blared across the bridge of the Resolute, their piercing wail cutting through the chaos of battle. Red alert lights painted everything in crimson as another explosion rocked the massive cruiser, sending sparks raining down from an overloaded console.

"We've lost the Vigilance, General!" Rex's voice cut through the din, his helmet comms crackling with static. "These shields are unlike anything we've encountered, some kind of new technology. Our turbolasers aren't even scratching them."

Anakin Skywalker stood rigid before the holographic tactical display, his mechanical hand clenched into a fist. The blue light cast his features in an otherworldly glow, highlighting the determination burning in his eyes.

"We need more firepower," Anakin said, his voice low and intense. "Concentrate all batteries on sector 7-4. Full spread."

"With all due respect, General," Rex stepped closer, his balance staggering from a near miss, "that's what we tried with the Courageous. She's now floating debris out there. We're losing ships, men, and not making a dent."

Ahsoka Tano watched from her station, her montrals twitching as she absorbed the tension in the room. She wore her standard Jedi attire which stood out against the armored grays and blues of the bridge: a maroon tube top that left her arms and shoulders bare, paired with tan leggings and a darker brown skirt that fell asymmetrically across her hips.

"Rex is right, Master," she said, stepping forward. "A direct assault is suicide. We need intelligence on how these shields work before we sacrifice more lives."

Anakin turned to face his padawan, his expression unreadable. "The Chancellor gave me a strict timeline. We don't have time for intelligence gathering."

"I have contacts," Ahsoka insisted, her voice steady despite the gravity of her suggestion. "Underworld sources. I could infiltrate Kessel, find the shield generator schematics, see what new technology theyre using—"

"Absolutely not," Anakin cut in sharply. "You're not ready for something like this. The Pykes would eat you alive."

"I can handle it," she countered, her chin lifting defiantly. "Better than watching our fleet get destroyed while we wait for backup that may not come in time."

Rex shifted uncomfortably, wisely holding his words, weighing his support of Ahsoka's practical approach and his loyalty to Anakin's command.

"Master," Ahsoka continued, her tone softening but firm, "you sent me on missions like this before. I'm 18, as good a pilot as rex, and a troop commander. I'm not the same little padawan I was a year ago."

The Resolute shuddered again as another volley of enemy fire struck its shields. Anakin's gaze flickered to the viewport where Kessel hung like a malevolent jewel in space, its defenses impenetrable.

"Fine," he relented, the word tasting like defeat. "But you go in quiet, you get the intel, and you get out. No heroics, Snips. You're our only shot at resolving this the easy way."

A small smile touched her lips. "When have I ever been anything but discreet, Skyguy?"

Anakin's eyebrow arched, looking her over, "I could list a dozen instances, but we don't have time. Take a shuttle and go. May the Force be with you."

As Ahsoka turned to leave, Rex caught her arm. "Be careful out there, kid. The Pykes don't take kindly to prisoners."

She nodded, her expression serious. "I'll be back before you know it."

The bridge doors hissed shut behind her, leaving Anakin staring at the tactical display, his jaw tight with worry he'd never admit aloud.
