Chapter 1743 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Solve the puzzle.

You, Eva, and Xiaoqing sort through the various tablets. With all the ones in the immediate area, and those you haven't seen yet on the other end, there are far more than needed, so not only do you need to find the correct order, but which ones are even required. This will be a long, annoying game of trial and error, but there's no other way. You begin spreading them out first to find patterns, though somebody is going to need to retrieve the ones behind the rotghouls. Thankfully, they don't seem intelligent enough to understand your true goal.

Snow adjusts the mask on her face and wraps her bow around her shoulder. "I'll throw the others over."

"And I'll catch 'em," Niki says from behind Amara.

"Same," you add.

"Meanwhile, I'll keep sorting them out," Xiaoqing says.

"But are you going to be all right?" you ask. "I know you're fast, Snow, but you heard Amara. One bite, and not only could you get seriously injured, but what if you get overrun? We need something else... Eva, I want you to pepper those skeletons. It'll probably piss them off, but that'll keep them distracted. And if they break through Amara's barrier, Niki will be ready, right?"

Niki grins. "You bet."

"I don't think it'll come to that though. Amara is the strongest cleric I know."

Just as she was starting to cool down a little bit, Amara's face turns pink again upon hearing those words. She looks back to you for a moment, but turns to face her foes, not out of focus but the opposite--flustered bashfulness. "Kyle..." she whispers under her breath.

"Go!" you announce.

"Then take this," Eva says as she swirls her wand in the air--tip of the carrot pointed straight at the undead across the pit. With a whip forward, she calls out the magic phrase, "Magic Bolt!" to send a sparkling blast of concentrated magical energy into the skull of one. Amara's barrier doesn't stop projectiles, nor does it shield against attacks at all. It acts as a divine ward to **** away evil creatures, so it provides the perfect embrasure for a ranged unit to open fire. "Magic Bolt!" she says again.

The first attack causes the rotghoul to reel back. As for the second, it falls hard enough that the skull breaks loose. Though after a moment, the darkness that binds it pulls the piece back to lock into the body once more, and it stands like nothing even happened, besides a growing malice within its piercing green-glowing sockets.

Meanwhile, Snow sprints to the right-most wall and leaps into the air, running briefly along the wall before flipping towards the back corner, farthest from the five undead creatures still distracted by the others. In mid-air, she calls out the spell, "Shadow ****," again, and before even hitting the ground, three additional Snows leap from her body, until there are four silhouettes scattering towards the various tablets laying about.

She isn't completely unnoticed. There aren't many places to hide. Slowly, the rotghouls begin to turn.

One shadow clone reaches a tablet. She moves her true self into the position it stands, lifts it, and hurls it like a Frisbee. This happens again with another, on the opposite end.

You catch the first, and Niki grabs the other. Both are tossed back into the pile, where Xiaoqing is doing her best to remain calm. It seems she's making a lot of progress already.

"They're starting to turn around," you say.

"Not on my watch." Eva points her carrot towards the ceiling. Then, as she slowly winds it back, mana flows up and through her body in a dance of sparkling light and crackling energy. She clenches her teeth, and her attention locks onto her target ahead--or targets, plural. She screams out her spell, "Chain Lightning!" and leaps beside Amara. An explosion of an elite mage's power not only fries the bones of the rotghoul ahead, but the electricity arcs out to hit all five. Though they make no sound, their bones rattle as they frantically try to remain on their feet, but each of them collapses into smouldering piles.

But like before, they gradually reform--taking longer this time, but the result is inevitable.

"A Celestial Blast would kill one for sure. I think," Amara comments under her breath.

"Don't overexert yourself," Niki responds.

She swallows awkwardly before admitting, "I uhm, actually do not mind if I need to cast more spells..."

"Another one!" She reaches past Amara, and snags another tablet to add to the others.

Snow swiftly swaps between the four shadows in an attempt to take advantage of the skeletons' slow restoration this time around. Though after they've returned, one leaps at her in a fury. It swipes through, though she had already swapped, so it eliminates one of four as the three continue the objective.

Two of the rotghouls throw themselves through the barrier. The moment they land, they rise and stare with a terrifyingly piercing glow, though the Beacon of Warding is still too potent. Slowly, they withdraw back again, though that was closer than any previous attempt. Meanwhile, the remaining three begin swiping at the various clones of Snow darting about, until only herself remains--shadows gone, the final tablet within her grasp.

But with reckless abandon, a rotghoul leaps at her just as she's about to throw.

"Flare Bolt!" you shout. Just before the deadly fangs of the skeleton can sink into the catfolk's tender flesh, its entire skull is blown clean off the spine.

She nods in thanks, and instead of proceeding with what she was doing, she instead keeps the tablet tucked under her arm, builds up speed, and leaps in a manner similar before. She briefly connects with the wall before kicking off to land back to safety.

"I'm almost there. Let's start putting them in as I go!" Xiaoqing shouts.

You, Eva, and Snow grab various tablets and slot them in as displayed on the ground. As you do, she sorts out the rest, discarding those which don't go anywhere at all. They fit in perfectly, no matter where you start, as if they were magnets on a fridge. It's satisfying how they interlock without any gaps between them. And as you connect them, magic flows through the circuits, gradually buildings towards an eventual link in the middle. That's the goal. Once the magic can complete a cycle around the entire chamber, the door will open for you to continue.

"Uhm... Problem!" Xiaoqing says.

"What is it?" you ask.

You look together at the left--completed. Then to the right, where there's a single square missing.

"I looked over every single one," she explains. "We don't have time to do it several times more. But it can't be wrong. Every other part of the puzzle has fit. Did one fall off the bridge?"

"Not that I saw."

"Uh oh," the Dungeon Master suddenly speaks, albeit quietly.

You stare up towards the ceiling. "... What?"

There's no response.

"Don't tell me this pretentious Dungeon Moron made a mistake making the room," Niki says. "Hey, if you screwed up, just own up to it and let us through!"

Then at last, the narrator speaks again. "You've done well so far making progress to complete the amazing puzzle before you. However, it seems to be more than meets the eye. A puzzle isn't just about an obvious solution. Sometimes, it requires more creativ--"

"Oh kiss my ass!"

Amara glances back and appears deep in thought. "... I know the solution."

"There is no solution, Amara. That broad lost the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle."

"But I know of a solution. Please, stand by my staff just in case my warding spell drops."

"I trust ya. Go do what you need to do."

The elf sprints over to the unfinished wall. She trails a finger along the glowing lines. Then with a deep breath, she pushes her palm flat against one side of the missing segment. "I believe this will work, but you must not pull me away, even if I scream."

"Th-That sounds scary, Amara!" Eva cries. "Don't do anything crazy."

"It will not hurt, but it will be overwhelming. See, the passage opens if the circuit is complete. As a cleric, I am quite trained in the control of my mana, which is what flows through these tablets. Therefore, all I need to do is complete it another way. Using myself."

Like somebody grabbing two electrical cables. "You sure that won't hurt?"

"My safe word will be... banana."

Eva taps her lip and stares down in deep thought. "I don't think I'd want a safe word that sounds phallic. I don't think it should be something you're always thinking about."

"... What?" Niki asks.

"N-Nothing," she says before speaking the command word, "Stream," in order to once again pour water into her mouth.

Amara them slaps her other palm up against the opposite end of the cavity. The effect is instantaneous. Much like being electrocuted, the mana surges from one end of the circuit, through her entire body, and then out the other side into the conjoining tablet. Suddenly, the entire room illuminates with a wave of radiant cyan, and as it does, the door-shape carved into the wall on the opposite end of the room materializes gradually into one of wood. But at the same time, she is not quiet, and it's a miracle she continues to stand. Amara screams and whimpers so loud that it filters out every single noise, from the breathing of the party, to the clattering of the rotghouls, who now turn to look in astonishment, even if they may have no idea what's transpiring.

Then, the Beacon of Warding drops. Her staff hits the ground with a clank. Then Niki jumps forward, ready to stop any who dare to cross.

With your Kitty Sense, you can tell right away just how intense of a sensation this is for Amara. You can't imagine. It's like... an incredibly powerful toy has been shoved deep up inside her, and then turned to its maximum setting. But at the same time, her entire body is endlessly shuddering. It's unlikely she can even perceive anything right now apart from her own arousal. Such an effect should cause one to orgasm near instantly, but because of the choker she wears, all it can do is build and build and build and never find release, like filling up a balloon with water, but it never pops. "Aaaaeeeiiaaaaiiooaaaaaaohhhhhh~!" The noise she makes is potently ****. Her eyes flutter, roll back, and drool runs from her lips, though that's definitely not the only thing leaking onto the stone tiled floor. "Oh, oohhh... I c-cannot... Aahh uhhghh aaahhhhh~!"

"A-Amara, the door is opened!" Eva calls out.

The party turns to the unsealed passageway. Niki hasn't had to even swing her weapon, as when the puzzle is completed, the rotghouls seem to have been given a silent command to halt. Then, they each leap into the pit--a hole so deep you don't hear them collide with the bottom. Granting, you can't hear much right now besides an elf's cries of sexual euphoria.

You take hold of her trembling sides. "You did it. You're amazing. But you can let go now."

"B-B... B-Banan..."

You yank her off the wall by ****, and then hold her steady. "Are you okay?"

It takes her a moment to focus her eyes enough to notice you standing right in front of her. But when she does, she throws her arms around your shoulders and delivers to you the sloppiest kiss you've perhaps ever experienced.

"Oohh... P-Please unlock me," she begs with genuine desperation. "Please, oh please tell me you brought my key."

"Of course I did." You scramble for it, and as you hold it towards the hole in her choker, she looks like she's a hair trigger away from an orgasm.

Whether it's the sound of the lock, the feeling of it against her, the touch of your hand, or all three, the second you pull it from her neck, she not only throws herself into your arms, but her body cums straight away. She grinds up against you, kissing you with the utmost passion. Her hands grab anywhere and everywhere as her body trembles. You bring up a knee between her legs, and you can feel your trousers become more drenched than perhaps they would from Eva's magical decanter.

"Oh, oohh... I-I am so sorry, everybody. I know we must go. But I cannot--"

"You're good," Niki says. "We can't have our cleric so hot and bothered that she can't stand. The owner of this place can wait. Give her what she needs, Kyle."

"I'll allow you to claim him for a short time," Eva says.

"He needs your permission now?"

"Well... All right, not when it's with Amara."

Her fingers dig into the back of your neck. She isn't all that strong, but she's grasping you with more aggression than you've seen from her before. She stares deeply into your eyes, and her quivering lips slowly curl up into a smile. "I need it," she whispers. "Please."

What do you do?
