The Bride to be, Carrie

Emma marvelled at the stately home turned hotel that she was going to be staying at this weekend. A large manor house, of orange brick and alabaster facings. As she drove up the gravel car park, even here was lush flower gardens and topiary. It was a stunning location. She text Tom to let him know that she had arrived safely before getting out of her car, grabbing her suitcase and heading to the main entrance.

Inside was just as charming as outside, the foyer was decorated with flowers and a small board pronouncing the wedding of Carrie and Mark this weekend. She headed to the reception desk and checked in, getting her key for room 404. The receptionist, Stephanie, talked her through the facilities and handed her a gift bag, all guests received one courtesy of the bride and groom.

As she thanked Stephanie, she turned around and was hugged suddenly by Carrie, the bride to be, they both squealed with delight to see eachother.

"So glad you are here, Emma" she said, releasing her.

"Wouldn't miss it for anything. This place is stunning!" Emma replied gesturing at the decor.

"Yeah we got lucky, plus Mark's aunty absolutely paid for most of this, so be nice to her this weekend." Carrie laughed "No Tom with you?" her eyebrows raised.

"Sorry no, he had to work but he sends his love" Carrie gave a sympathetic face. "It's okay, I promise I will be fun enough for the two of us"

Carrie giggled and hugged her again "Oh babes, I should probably warn you. One of Mark's groomsman is Liam... they play football together. You going to be okay seeing him?" she asked with concern.

Liam was her ex from years ago now. It shouldn't bother her at all that he was here. "No fear, I've not even thought about him in years" Emma said, picturing now the guy she used to date. Remembering his immaturity and total lack of drive.

Carrie hurried off to the next guests arriving, While she headed to her room in the west wing of the house.
