You decide you can't go

Deciding to break the news to Emma, you let her know that there is no way that you can get that weekend off. What follows is an almighty row between you, with her telling you you are not supporting her, and you telling her that she is being unreasonable.

"Well I am not going to miss Carrie's wedding, I have known her since school and I want to go." she says in a huff. She fills out the RSVP. "You can stay here Tom" she storms off, slamming the bedroom door.

Over the next weeks you do manage to patch things up but it remains a sensitive topic. The hotel that the wedding is taking place in is a days travel away and guests are encouraged to book for the whole weekend. As the date draws closer Emma is more excited to be going and seeing old school friends, while you are just happy she is not being snappy anymore.

The friday morning arrives and she gets ready and packs her car for the weekend away. "I will miss you, Tom. It just won't be the same."

"Go have fun with your friends. Think, you get an entire hotel room to yourself, it'll be great" you reply. She kisses you before climbing into her car and driving off.
