Who the other eight are

For a while, the four spoke quietly, talking of what happened to them and how they ended up where they are now. Discussing the different species of fishmen that had ambushed them and how they fight. They then discussed where they were and whether they should escape and come back later better prepared to deal with this team of nine fish people or if they should try and take them as they were now.

Eventually, though, they all knew the question that had to be asked. It was obvious, and they all probably knew the answer already, but it had to be confirmed. Be sure if they were right, then everything had just changed for them forever going forward. So in the end the one to voice the question was the one who was best trained as a detective by Batman.

"We know those fish people are, don't we?" Red Robin asked, to which the room went totally silent. It was clear the others seemed almost afraid to breathe, that any movement or sound that they made would confirm what they were trying to deny. The situation that they tried to deny and pretended wasn't possible despite the evidence in front of their eyes. As the truth would bring such hope that to their experience had to be a lie or a very cruel trap.

"It's our parents; that's who they are." Red Robin said solving the obvious mystery that had been confirmed by how the other eight fish talked and moved. Red Robin looked the others in the eye. "Unless you're going to tell me it was different for the rest of you." Red Robin said to the others who didn't even attempt to deny it.

"The tall fish man and the silver fish lady are my parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne." Batman said aloud, confirming it finally. Nightwing and Red Hood looked at each other for a moment. Then they spoke themselves, though it was clear their reactions were rather different.

"The flying fish couple are my parents." Nightwing said in an awed tone, not really sure that such a thing could be possible. Now, while they had seen their parents after their deaths, it was usually as either a hallucination damning them for not surviving or raising them as some kind of zombie meant to tear them limb from limb.

"The rockfish and red-and-white striped fish ladies are my mom and stepmom." Red Hood said, his voice clear with disbelief, his mother had abandoned him the first chance she got. It was his stepmom who had raised him as his mom. She had tucked him while singing a lullaby on many a bad night for him.

The four men found themselves having to wonder how to handle this, as control could be broken, and if breaking control did not destroy whatever had brought them back. Then all four man would have their families back and they had contingencies for hundreds of situations just not that one.

"We will deal with it later. For now we handle this situation as is," Batman said, getting them all on task. As the important thing was they were currently prisoners they would deal with uniting with who they had lost at a later date. So back on task, they analyzed their area, trying to figure out where this ship was exactly.

As they were talking about plans and their options, Kgbeast walked back in carrying their tool belts in his non-clawed hand. They looked at him, wondering what his game was, bringing their tools so close to them. He laid the belts down on a rusted table in the center of the room that was barely holding together.

He looked at them all with his odd shrimp eyes. An obvious happiness to his movements that was not good. "I see you all are rather chatty. "Well, that's good; wouldn't want you all so quiet for our later talk," Kgbeast said in his Russian-accented voice that held a hint of malice, telling them their future would not be pleasant.

Batman saw a contradiction, though. As Kgbeast wasn't stupid, he'd know they would use their tools to escape. Then he remembered that Kgbeast had said leaving would kill them, which is what he wanted to happen, so he left the toll to escape in easy reach. For a moment, Kgbeast and Nathan stared at each other silently in a battle of wills.

Eventually Batman spoke. "We are not leaving." He said his voice with finality, surprising the other three. KGBeast looked at him with even more intensity and saw, sadly for him, that Batman was serious. He gave a strange sigh. As he could see, Batman was not lying.

"Saw through my trick, I see. I was hoping you would miss it as you tried to get back as quickly as you could to your precious Gotham. Well, you'll live now, which you wouldn't do if you tried to leave, considering all your breathing tools are broken." Kgbeast said, leaving once again, stomping out that his little trick hadn't worked.

The four heroes looked at each other, all of them having figured out that Kgbeast couldn't touch them himself and so could only try to get them to kill themselves, which wouldn't be his fault. Though needing help to breathe was a big clue to where they were for them to figure out.

Which Batman promptly did and told the others his answer. "We are at the bottom of Gotham's bay." Batman said calmly, to which the others nodded, getting it. The constant groaning of the ship's hull was from the constant pressure of the water outside the ship pressing down on it. They had repaired and equalized a sunken ship at the bottom of the bay.

This was why their breathing gear was broken; it would have given them the extra air needed to reach the surface as it is. If they tried to go up, they would run out of air and drown long before they reached the surface, and that was without the now water-breathing Kgbeast swimming after them.

For the moment they were trapped, and so the ball was in the court of whoever was calling the shots. For the moment the best they can do is prepare to react to anything with the tools left nearby. Though they would have to be extremely careful if a fight broke out, as the groaning of the ship's hull made it clear it couldn't handle a hit.
