Chapter 49

How is Pieter's outing to the store?
Rudely interupted by an alarm on his phone.
(Pieter's POV)
I am making quests while waiting for the pizzas when the alarm goes off, and I see:
Warning: Anne Molenaar has found out QuestMaster's identity twice in one day with little information. New, more severe punishments are being issued. Anne Molenaar not a target. LifeQuest-based punishments not available. Punishment selected. Anne Molenaar will lose memories until she completes the memory recovery quest as a target. Select two additional punishments from the following:
- Hornyness increases until released.
- Can't leave the presence of a target or QuestMaster or revert to a child in mindset.
- She will be legally recognised as the property of her partner. She will recognise them as their owner.
- Needs semen as food each day.
- She will no longer be able to retain any memories in the future.
- She will be unable to lie.
- She will defer decisions unconditionally to targets if they give inputs, except if QuestMaster says otherwise.
Fuck all of these basically mean no self-control, no personal life, or being a toy for others. The least destructive combination might be...... her being my property and deferring decisions unconditionally to targets. I immediately sent a text to Madelon. 'She figured it out again. Whatever you guys said made her figure it out. She won't have ANY memories when she wakes up, listen to your suggestions unless I tell her otherwise, and I quote the punishment "be the property of her partner." Please make sure she stays safe until I am there.' No response. I sent a copy to Robin with the addition, 'I send this also to Madelon', in the hope that they would figure it out.
(Madelon's POV)
Anne wakes up. A panic happens. "Who are you?" She shouted repeatedly. I received a text. I figured it might hold the answer, but I don't have the time to look at it.
"Anne, calm down!" I shout, and she does.
"Why did I calm down when you said that?" She questions me.
"Trust me, you know us. Not necessarily me, or Estera, but Roos and Robin are your friends. My brother Pieter is your boyfriend." I beg her.
"Sure, I will trust you, owner's wife." She replies. Why is Pieter her owner? How does she know I am his wife? Robin is looking at their phone.
"Madelon, check your phone. Anne, come, I think we need to check what happened. Tell us what you know." Robin insists on both of us. I start reading the message.
"My owner's name is Pieter Visser, Madelon is his wife and sister, and everything else Madelon just told me," Anne responds.
"Nothing else?" Robin continues questioning.
"Nothing else. But where is this place I need to go to Pieter's place, he will come looking for me there." With urgency, Anne responds, a panic brewing beneath the surface but not allowed to emerge. Not an unfamiliar sight to me, Mom had it all the time.
"Don't worry, Pieter knows you are with me in our apartment with Robin, another one of his partners. Roos is also one of his partners. You are with friends and family. You can show your emotions. We won't harm you because of them." I respond to her panic.
She seems to let the gitteryness go down as Pieter enters with the pizzas. "Okay, what is going on? Why is everyone in a circle around Anne?" He asks as if he doesn't know.
"Owner, you have returned," Anne says kind of in the void. "From what your girlfriends and wife have told me, I have lost all my memories."
"And apparently, you identify me as your owner. Anne, please call me Pieter. Any information from other sources?" Pieter asks in the void. Anne luckily responds with a nod.
Oh, that is a hint for me to chime in. "From messages I have from the QuestMaster. Anne fucked up again and pieced it together again. Now, instead of two, she got three punishments. As much as I would like to keep them hidden, it is better to tell you the three new punishments. One full memory wipe, two, whoever her partner is is now her owner, three, all people with the LifeQuest app can say stuff, but her owner overwrites stuff. Pieter, can you make it so she won't listen to Tim and his cronies?"
"Don't ever listen to someone named Tim Smith or anyone they associate with." He says. "First, let's eat and have her checked out."
"No, first have her install the app. That way, she might get an unlock quest." Robin intervenes.
"She doesn't know her login, does any of you?" I ask.
Pieter tries a date, not it. "Who was most important to her... Pieter, try your birthday." They say having caught onto his idea. It works.
"Accept the referral and do what the Quests say when you can; if others are involved, listen to their wants about it. After that pizza. Remember that the password is 82393. Also, hit the button to give me Questgiver permission whilst you are at it." He says before grabbing a meatlovers pizza. But Anne does as she is told. The rest look with trepidation as the scene unfolds, and I grab my pizza Hawaii.
Tension is released for a moment until Pieter calls the local emergency doctor, who says they have a spot in 10, which is perfect. Our party is over, Roos leaves, and Robin, Anne and Pieter are leaving for the hospital.
(Pieter's POV)
"Robin, it is best you drive with Anne riding in the back with me. That way, I can keep an eye on her for now. Anne never looks at my phone, okay." Anne salutes. Robin looks at me as if they want to say something, but is quiet instead, grabbing the key from my hand. "Anne, if ever anyone's command would put you in danger, don't do it. Even if it is my own. You will do whatever you can to live." Robin lets their shoulders slump, realising I am not doing any of this deliberately to ruin Anne's life.
We go sit down in the car, and I start by laying down a few more ground rules. "Don't tell anyone about LifeQuest unless you have checked about it with Robin, Madelon or me. Don't go somewhere with other people unless Robin, Madelon or me says it is okay. You have to be honest with the doctor, but don't tell her that you have been mindwiped by a magical app. Just tell them you fell **** and then you woke up without memories, with people who told you they were your friends and that checks out based on the messages." I tried to perform some coaching. "Robin, unless both of us can go in, I suggest you go in with Anne."
"Yeah, sure, good plan. I was there when it happened. You weren't." She says with a smile I can see in the mirror.
I open the app to be greeted with the fact that Anne is now in the app. Followed by Robin has reached level 15, and I get to upgrade one of her perks as a reward. Out of Wealthy II, Body Confidence II, Femininity II, Modelling I, and Cunning I, I choose Wealthy II.
I spot that Anne has a class already assigned by the app 'Human puppet' (Pieter). I ignore it for now. I go over to her profile and make two quests.
- Spend 1 hour together with Robin
- Go pick up stuff from your apartment and move it over to Pieter's.
- Try to program a small tech demo and have Robin review it.
Select Reward:
- Perk [Programming I]
- Increased closeness with Robin.
- Memory unlock quest.
I take the unlock quest, definitely might take them a day to set that up, but it will work. For her second Quest:
- Practice programming for at least an hour.
- Work at least 1 hour on a hobby project of choice.
- Clean the apartment for 10 minutes.
Select reward:
- Perk [Programming I]
- Perk [Cleaning I]
- Reward depending on project choice.
I select Programming I as a safe pick for work when she recovers her memories. She looks at her phone, puzzled as the second quest rolls in. "Pieter, what does a hobby project of your choice mean?"
"A hobby project no one else can determine for you. You have to pick it." I reply. "I can give you a list of hobbies, and you can pick. But you will have to pick."
"But I don't remember anything. How am I supposed to pick or do anything?"
"You know how to speak, don't you? Some knowledge is fundamental enough. Motor skills can be something people remember, learn, even if their memory isn't willing to pick up things. Even if you don't know how to do a thing now, you can always learn to do it. That is part of a hobby, the art of learning a skill that may or may not prove useful, you could describe it as. Some are creative, think of painting, drawing, writing, making films, music, games, and so many more. Some more practical activities, such as gardening, hiking, and any number of sports. These generally are about exploring the world and the capabilities of our bodies. Some of these are simpler to learn and pick up, while others are more complex. Take making a game, for example. You need to decide how it looks, how it sounds, how it feels, what, if any, story there is, and on top of that, it needs to work and respond to the inputs from the user. For this, the following skills are needed: game design, visual design, writing, even if it is just to explain to the user how to play the game, audio design, and programming to make it work. Some of those skills you can expand further depending on what you want to do with them."
Anne looks overwhelmed, but responds. "Is programming a hobby?"
I respond dryly. "Only if you have fun doing it. Otherwise, it is a job, but that doesn't mean a job is by definition not fun. Usually, when people do programming as a hobby, it is to make something. It doesn't need to be a game that is a very complex thing to make, but something simple, sure."
"So many contradictions." She says, shaking her head as we arrive at the hospital.
I check Anne in, and only one person can come in with her. Later, I get called in and asked questions about what they are allowed, as if Anne were some sort of pet or animal. Weird but understandable given how she is my property. I let them do the tests, explaining that I would rather she be healthy, but if something else is going on, we need to know now that we might still be able to do something about it. The tests happen and will be sent to my doctor, who apparently is also Anne's doctor. We leave the place three hours later.
Robin decides to ask a question I had not dared to think about. "Where will she sleep, Pieter. Our bed? Tell Estera to sleep with Madelon and give her bed to Anne for the night?"
"I will call Madelon and Estera and ask what they want." A short but curt call happens. "Estera was already planning on sleeping in Madelon's bed, so Anne will sleep in Estera's bed. We will see what you guys decide to move over from her apartment next to the laundry machine and dryer we need to look into. Why does everything keep escalating?" I complain to no one in particular.
"Because you don't take a break to breathe. Call Jessica tomorrow, tell her you need more time, and she can use the free time you have if she thinks it doesn't count as sick leave anymore. We will do all of this together. It isn't good to drop Anne in my lap and move back to work. We functionally have a kid with her on our hands." Robin says as they drive us home. I take a deep breath, and as a result, framing it like that helps my brain recover a tiny bit. She is indeed a child in some aspects, just one who looks like my friend.
What happens at home?
