Chapter 10

What exchange is made?
Callisto clarifies
“I am still not sure what it is you want,” Arimneste said quietly.
Callisto was the one who answered. She was dressed unlike the other two women, in heavy himation alone, the heavy fabric covering her fully but not disguising that she had muscles to go with her curves. “Brother, if you continue like this we will be here all night. Arimneste, what is asked of you is a chance to enjoy your body as well as your wit. You have, perhaps, learned that here we find the love of Sappho no more strange than that of erastes and eromenos.” From Callisto’s wicked grin at Dia, perhaps she at least suspected what had transpired in the bath, Arimneste thought. “But strangers are rare here, and the chance to sport with such a beauty as you is a great gift indeed.”
Psophis ducked her head eagerly, and Nyctimus simply grinned broadly. Arimneste could feel fear and desire and shame and curiosity roiling inside her. With these near-strangers? But after what she had experienced with Dia...? “And you?” she asked.
The auburn woman favored her with a crooked smile showing white, even teeth. “I have dedicated myself to Artemis and do not much take part in these affairs. It is to my brother and sisters that you should look.”
Arimneste turned to look at them. Dia’s smile had not wavered, and now Psophis’s matched it, so similar that they could almost be twins. “It is our custom to welcome women in the fashion of women,” Psophis noted softly, “and I would not have it said that Dia offered greater welcome than I,”
“And I, for one, see a vision of loveliness and would know with my hands what my eyes tell me,” Nyctimus said, for once eloquent, but his hazel eyes danced with mirth.
“The senses are not the font of the mind,” Arimneste replied, studious philosophy taking over from her shocked mind, but the king simply laughed.
Callisto, again, turned the offer to Arimneste: “We will ask nothing of you that you do not offer. I simply ask that you consider the small gift of pleasure you might bring us in exchange for what you ask.”
The poor Athenian girl felt more and more dumbfounded. "But... here? Among brothers and sisters?"
"We are close and share so much," Callisto replied, unfazed. "As I may not partake, I observe. We will take our turns, but without us all present how could the reckoning of what you give us be made?" Her smile widened with humor equal to her brother's lightening her expression. "However you let us partake or choose to partake yourself. Come, your body knows its willingness even if your mind lags." Arimneste glanced down and realized that her hardened nipples were indeed obvious through the fabric that barely concealed them, as she had feared, but the ember of embarrassment was kept from bursting into flame by her realization that at least such a reaction was expected of her... then fanned brighter by the obvious protrusion in Nyctimus's robe. "You have hands and mouth and other avenues of greater pleasure, as do my siblings. How might they be best employed?"
What is Arimneste's offer?
