Chapter 5 by Captain Edison Captain Edison

What's next?

Taking the next steps

The goggles hummed against your temples, feeding a constant stream of blue holographic data into your mind. You stood in silence for a long moment, processing everything.

Vixen watched you warily from across the console, the torn lab coat barely containing her exaggerated curves. She still looked deeply uncomfortable in her own skin.

You finally spoke.

“I’m not Vex. I don’t want to continue whatever sick shit he was doing here… but I also know I can’t just walk away. The Dominion will come looking for him eventually.”

Vixen nodded slowly. She had spent the time you were gone digging through Vex’s holopads. Her expression was grim.

“You have no idea how right you are,” she said. “I found his private correspondence. He was working directly for Overlord Kane. Kane was funding everything — the serums, the cages, the transformations. He was expecting regular deliveries of ‘improved assets.’ If Kane finds out Vex is dead and his lab has gone dark…”

She let the implication hang in the air.

You exhaled. “Then the first step to staying alive is making sure Kane doesn’t realize Vex is gone. We need to buy time. Fake reports, delayed messages, whatever it takes.”

Vixen studied you for a long moment, clearly weighing her distrust against the very real danger you both faced.

“…Alright,” she said reluctantly. “I’ll help you with that. But you promised to fix me. So let’s start there.”

You focused the goggles on her and selected Body Modification. Ghostly holographic previews appeared across her body, along with a new bar at the top of your vision:

Available Mutagen: 15%

Vixen leaned in closer, looking at the floating data only you could see. You filled her in.

“That bar,” she said. “It’s tracking how much… whatever you stole from Vex you have left. We need to be careful.”

Together, you tested the limits. You couldn’t restore her breasts to their original size or fully reverse her widened hips and swollen pussy — not with only 15% mutagen available. But you could make smaller, safer adjustments. You focused carefully. The leaking from her massive breasts slowed, then stopped completely. The unbearable hypersensitivity between her legs dulled to a more manageable level. Each change felt smooth — no stabbing headache this time. Unfortunately, now you had 2% of the mutagen left and no idea how to get those levels up.

Vixen let out a shaky breath of relief as the worst of the discomfort faded.

“…Okay. That’s something,” she muttered, adjusting the lab coat. “As long as you stay under that threshold, it seems like you won’t burn yourself out. That’s useful information.”

You lowered the goggles for a moment and looked at her directly.

“We’re in this together now,” you said. “At least until I can get you back to normal and figure out what the hell I’m going to do long-term.”

Vixen gave you a small, cautious nod, though the wariness in her eyes hadn’t disappeared.

You decided to push a little further. “Before I captured you… what were you even doing out there? Were you just running solo, or were you part of something bigger? A group that might be able to help us stay hidden?”

Vixen tensed visibly. She looked away, pulling the lab coat tighter around herself.

“…I wasn’t solo,” she admitted after a long pause. “I’m part of a resistance group called The Spark. We try to help people the Dominion disappears — rescued civilians, captured heroes, anyone who gets caught in their machine. We do what we can: sabotage, extractions, spreading the truth.”

She gave you a hard look.

“But I’m not telling you names, locations, or how to contact them. Not yet. I still don’t fully trust you, Traps. For all I know, this whole ‘I want to fix you’ act is just a way to get me to lead you straight to my people so you can hand them over to Kane.”

You didn’t blame her for the suspicion.

“Fair enough,” you said. “But if we’re going to survive this, we might need them. And they might need what’s in this lab.”

Vixen sighed, rubbing her temples. “Maybe. But right now we have bigger problems. Kane is expecting results from Vex. We need to figure out how to stall him without raising suspicion.”

She glanced back at the glowing consoles and then at you.

“So… what’s our next move?”
