Jackbox games

Heading over, I am nervous as to what I can say. Luckily, both their parents know me as one of their buddies. As I ring the bell, I say hello to them, but am quickly whisked up to Robin's room without much time to speak to their parents. Robin goes down to fetch us some drinks and snacks. As they do, I look through their Steam library, and I find a lot of porn games, yeah, we ain't playing any of those. 'It takes two' is a solid option, but doesn't allow for a lot of non-gameplay talk. Monster Prom, those are fun to play and mess about, make jokes with. Maybe, not the most engaging with the audience, though. Wait, he has a boatload of Jackbox games. Those should do well.

Robin returns with a bottle of soda as well as a box of cookies. I propose the game, and they agree. We are mildly limited in what we can do to t-ko, quibage, and trivia, but this is enough. I decide to put on a plague doctor mask for my own privacy for now. Robin changes into a pink t-shirt with 'Ready for action' written on it. We start the stream, and everyone is instantly wondering who I am and why I am wearing the dumb mask. Robin introduces me. "This is Peter the Bird. He will be joining stream from now on, every once in a while, to be a counterweight to my sillyness." I tilt my head. "He will always have a straight face, but as you can see, much like puppets and other costumes that have little in the way of visual indicators of the face underneath, you can still get a lot out of it." I nod in response. "He isn't talking right now cause he is a shy little birdy, isn't he?" Picking up what Robin is putting down, I do a shy pose with a little wiggle. "That might change once he sees that you guys are good eggs and there is no need to be that. We will be starting with 100 questions with Peter until everyone is in, and once we are done, we might play some Jackbox." Good plan, also an extra game good plan. "So chat spam your questions, and he will pick an answer based on that and write the question and the answer on a note I will turn around in the meantime."

I overexaggeratedly look at the chat and quickly spot the question I will answer. 'Who is your partner?' Which is Robin. It might be more than just flirting, but telling the stream is not wrong. Also works since I am currently Robin's stream partner; they can spin it like that if they want. Instead of actually tapping their shoulder with my hand, I do it with the beak.

Robin glances over at the chat, which is filled with hearts as I poke their cheek with the beak. "Okay, if I know the question, this will be easy since I know you, so we will be picking questions from chat. Since Peter hasn't been saying things yet, we do only yes and no questions for now." A person in chat points out that it is the default rules, and I pop it out using the controls, landing me a straight-up glare. I respond as if I am hurt by it. "Fine, first one, is it an object?" I cross my arms and shake my head. "Second, is it a concept?" I push him away and shake my head. "Is it a person?" I nod and give a thumbs-up. "Okay, so a person. Does chat know them?" I nod and big okay sign with my arms meeting above my head. "You are supposed to keep my silly in check, not be super over the top." I point my face at them and smile under the mask. With this type of mask, the more over the top the better the performance. "Fair if you aren't speaking, this is one of the only ways you can respond. Is it a character?" I think for a moment, is Robin on stream more of a character or a real person.... I do the cross again. "So are they real person. Are they Dutch?" I decide to do a small cocky nod. "Someone the stream knows and is Dutch... what could the question be? Are they a celebrity?" Stream has started guessing it is Robin. I shake my head slowly. "So, as the stream is guessing, is it me?" I hand them the paper. They blush. "You picked that on purpose. I have to pick how I phrase this now, don't I?" I nod. "You bastard. Luckily for you, my parents don't watch the stream, nor does anyone else I know who would have an issue with this. The question was 'Who is your partner?' The answer is me. In more ways than one." I give them a peck on the mouth with the mask.

The chat goes wild, and there is a lot of hype. Robin decides to go over some questions that come up. Things like how long have you known each other? How long have you been dating? Have you had sex yet? Is Peter a man or actually a girl? Most of them we can answer easily and honestly without revealing too much personal info or having them become super parasocial. I try to either act out the answer or make poses that make the answer obvious by my reaction to them. Chat reacts weirdly to the fact that we have only been dating for a day, but have known each other for over 17 years. I decide to say the first thing in all of the stream. "You know if one of the two is oblivious to his own emotions. It is kind of hard to start a relationship." I do try to make it sound more corvid or birdlike. They go wild for two things: one, I spoke in response to that and two, I have decided to go all in on the bit. Finishing the interview portion, we decide to move on to Jackbox.

We start and make sure that the two of us are always in the room and swapping regularly. Within some of the responses, some inappropriate ones happen. And both of us send flirty ones as well. Most of the chat has fallen in love with this dynamic and would love to see more of it. As it starts to get to 12, I signal that I have very little time left and that I have work tomorrow. As a result, we say our goodbyes. As Robin closes the stream, he looks at his phone at the LifeQuest app. Reward based on stream quality: A high increase in support for the LGBTQ+ community amongst viewers and a follow-up quest.

I realise getting them up to lvl 10 is likely the biggest challenge. Class I can do with a perk I can buy if I have gained one level based on my xp gain per quest, it should be done now. However, the referral unlock is calling me. If I get it, it will allow me to get more quests in and level quicker. I will think about it until I get home. "Hey bye," I say before kissing them. Stumped, I leave them behind, while thanking their parents for their hospitality.
