Where is Vivian?
Getting Caught
Earlier That Day
After that first day, Vivian did not return to Jaqueline’s gang. One day could be explained. Maybe two. But after that? She wa sin big trouble.
She was starting to get paranoid, seeing Jaqueline’s gang everywhere. At least, it would be Paranoia if it weren’t true.
After several days of this, Vivian had a bad feeling. She knew she needed to let Haley know something was about to happen, even if she had no physical proof. She just had to make sure that only Haley could figure out said clue.
She quickly grabbed a pen and a piece of paper, before then heading to Haley’s bedroom.
It was more bare bones than it used to be. Still, Haley was a person of habit. This was a benefit when you had a secret communication method from one’s childhood.
Quickly, Vivian wrote out and confessed to her sins on the piece of paper. She then folded the paper and stuffed it into the sole of Haley’s favorite sneaker. She and Haley used to sneak messages to each other all the time this way. It was just a weird sibling thing.
Ding-Dong
The door bell. Vivian knew right away who it was.
There was no one else it could be.
This was it. Now or never.
Vivian quickly turned and headed downstairs to answer the door. She is soon stopped in her tracks by a voice that definitely shouldn’t be in this house.
“Jaqueline is disappointed with you Vivian,” a familiar voice said aloud.
Vivian already knew, It was Claire. She turned around and was quickly able to confirm this visually, the black teen sitting on a far chair in the living room.
“I wonder why,” Vivian replied sarcastically.
“And to think, Jane thought you held so much promise.”
“I just felt that this life was not for me.”
“You don’t seem to understand. You can’t walk away from this life. Once your in, your there forever.”
“Does that not seem wrong at all to you? That you can’t leave Jaqueline’s servitude?”
“Seriously,” Claire scoffed, raising an eyebrow. “Besides, this is different. And it’s time for you to pay your due, one way or another.”
Vivian suddenly felt a prick in her skin. Things began to get blurry, fast, and soon she was out cold. Standing behind her was Janice.
“You didn’t have to talk all that much,” Janice replied.
“It got the job done, did it not?” Claire shot back.
“What ever, just help me load her into the car.”
Minutes later, and still unconscious, Vivian was tied up and was being transported back to their lair. They had done a preliminary search for messages, and left a fake one behind. They did not check Haley’s shoes though, not expecting anything to be there.
Half an hour later, Haley arrived to an empty home.
