During the attack, you see how the pirates are being held back by a big brawny sailor swinging a hammer. You figure this is a good way of keeping your cover.
You charge at the sailor with your sword. He swings at you, but you evade the attack. When you find an opening, you punch him in the face with one of your metal gauntlets. You hope it would knock him out, or at least bring him down. Unfortunately the guy barely flinches.
He prepares his hammer again and you come in with a renewed attack. This time you put your sword against the haft of his hammer and prevent him from getting momentum. Still, his strength is too much for you. He breaks free and throws you to the deck. You land with your back on the wooden floor and look up at the sailor. He brings his hammer up, ready to give you the killing blow, until a knife lodges itself into his throat.
