Chapter 19
by

What target does captain Jim end up attacking?
A merchant ship
Captain Jim gathers his crew, some 50 or so people, and despite a lot of bickering managed to get them to set sail. He also introduces you to One-eye Sally, a blonde haired woman with an eyepatch. You are to follow her and help her with her tasks.
Sally helps you to become part of the crew. She teaches you how to raise the sails and even how to swing a rope, in the event you have to attack another ship. She is an enjoyable person to be around and makes the trip a lot of fun.
During the trip, captain Jim asks if you had seen Bill anywhere. You couldn’t really say that he was eaten by a slimegirl so instead you say the last time you saw him he was going outside to get drunk.
“Argh, bastard could still be out there.” Sally says to captain Jim. “I’m gona ‘ave to give him a good kick in the arse when we get back.”
Suddenly the lookout boy yells “Ship at starboard!” From the crow’s-nest.
Jim quickly took his binocular and peered at the distant ship.
“Looks like a merchant.” Jim says. He then looks at your new friend and said “Get your daggers ready, Sally. You’re going to need them.
The small pirate ship quickly catches up with the other. It is quickly noticeable that it really is a mercantile vessel. On top of that, it sails slowly. That should meaning it is either full of goods that can be sold, or taking back riches.
When you reach the other ship, several pirates throw boarding anchors and swing across. You throw one yourself, like Sally taught you and swing across the narrow space between the ships. The moment your feet touch the deck, you draw your sword and make ready to defend yourself.
Panicking sailors are running around, searching for either weapons or a place to hide. It saddens you that many of the innocent people on that ship will now be killed, but if you are to get to Gerlangen as quickly as you can, this is a necessary evil.
Your primary goal right now is to make it seem like you are fighting the merchants sailors. But your secret objective is to either find a rowing boat and escape or find a hiding spot and wait until the pirates leave.
How does the battle go?
