Meeting Hailey by the showers

Leaving the locker room, Maya first walked to the showers. You were supposed to shower before entering the pool so the water stayed clean, and as someone who loved the pool so much she of course always made sure to do so. She could already hear the sounds of the pool beyond. The splashing, the laughing, the yelling. Normally she would welcome it. Right now it terrified her.

She had to stop her arms from covering her chest multiple times. As unnatural as it felt, covering up would only draw more attention to her situation. So she kept her arms stiffly by her sides as she walked.

Hailey was already waiting for her by the showers. "You did it! I wasn't sure if you were going to go through with it."

Maya got under the shower. "I wasn't sure either. I feel so exposed."

"Don't worry, it looks good. As I thought, you can definitely pass for a man like this."

"Let's hope you're right. And be careful saying such things, someone might hear." As she said that, a man and a woman walked up and started showering a little further away. Neither said anything, but Maya swore they were throwing secret glances her way. Probably just paranoid.

Finishing her shower, she was finally ready to get into the pool. They walked past the showers and Hailey asked: "So, where to now?"
