Dr. Stone Suggests Sue Storm Study What Makes Mary Jane So Sexy

"So it was effective," Dr. Stone said.

Sue Storm sipped her tea before she answered. Her cheeks were hot. She had gone into more detail about Reed making love to her than she had intended. At first it felt like oversharing, but Dr. Stone had seemed to absorb every word, even asked small, polite questions to elicit more information.

"But you're upset," the psychiatrist said, when Sue didn't answer.

The Invisible Woman frowned. Was she that obvious?

"He said another woman's name, in the middle of sex," Dr. Stone said gently. "It doesn't take a telepath to know you might have feelings about that. What we're here to do, this session, is to interrogate those feelings."

"Am I not good enough for him?" Sue said after a long moment.

"Not at all. Men like variety. It's part of their nature," Dr. Stone said. "Evolutionary psychologists like to say that men are hardwired for infidelity. But the truth is more complicated. Reed Richards is faithful to you, he loves you, but that doesn't mean he can't run his eyes over the rest of the menu. Your dye job combined the woman he loves with the variety he craves."

Sue blinked. She hadn't thought about it like that.

"But it won't last, will it?" Sue said. "Eventually he'll get bored again. Fixate on someone else."

"Perhaps. And maybe you'll need to change again. But there are more changes you can pursue than just a dyejob," Dr. Stone said.

Sue's hand instinctively went to her red hair.

"What do you mean?" the heroine said.

"I mean that Reed isn't just attracted to redheads. Mary Jane Watson is a model. She has confidence, grace. You need to study her. How she moves, how she holds herself. That kind of attitude and bodily control are rarely entirely natural; they're learned, trained behaviors. Things you can learn, that you can emulate. You can be Mary Jane for him," Dr. Stone said.

Sue Storm set down her teacup. Her brow furrowed. Unconvinced.

Moonstone's implants buzzed as she sent a gravimetric wave toward Sue's brain. The redheaded heroine shuddered and sagged inside her chair.

"You need to study Mary Jane Watson. Understand her. Understand what makes her so sexy," Dr. Stone said.

"So sexy..." Sue repeated, her brain open to suggestion.
