Chapter 9 by thatrandomhuman thatrandomhuman

Is it Elle?

No, it's David

Jess really thought it would be Elle. She didn't expect to the man who had fled in terror upon seeing her. That look of terror still plastered on his face. But now there was a hint of another emotion. Confusion? No something else.

"Uh, hello?" Jess asked after staring at each other for an uncomfortable amount of time.

David's voice was but a whimper. "What are you?"

"Excuse me? What am I?" She said back at him offended at first, but not a moment later she asked herself the same question. She wasn't entirely certain anymore.

you are his god

The voice was quiet almost weak. But no less prominent.

David's lip trembled in the silence. His eyes darted around looking for something that wasn't there. "Ever since the club you've been trapped up here." He pointed at his head. "You won't LEAVE! I don't know if I want you too anymore..."

"Huh?" Jess barely gasped before David continued.

"I... you're not something, to... to yell at. I'm sorry. You can help me... no. I can help you." With that David entered her apartment and began doing the dishes.

Jess wanted to stop him, but she felt an arm wrap around her shoulder out of nowhere.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" It was Elle.

"I don't understand. What's going on with him?"

"You've been lucky so far, few people can become like me so quickly. Evan and that sexy brunette you never even bothered to learn the name of? That was me guiding you towards people you would be so easy... to help. That taxi driver? Let's just say he didn't exactly get helped right. You won't have to think about him again."

"What do you mean, what did I do to him?" Jess asked but got no response. Elle was gone, or maybe she was never there.

It was an odd feeling having a stranger in her apartment that was so obsessed with cleaning. He moved on from the dished and began dusting, thoroughly. Jess was uncertain of what she should do with the man, let him continue or throw him out? In the end she decided to let him continue. If this was all a big dream, then David wasn't real. If it was real, she was going to get her place cleaned for free. Either way she still had to go to work.

After work...
