Amy in the Army
I was determined to serve my country, so I volunteered for military service. And today was the big day: I had been called up.
I was given a uniform and a steel helmet, but to my great disappointment, no weapon. The soldier in the armoury said I was already explosive enough as it was.
So I stood nervously in the barracks yard for my first roll call. I was a little surprised that I was the only one not wearing pants and that my combat dress was shoulder-free, unlike my comrades' uniforms.
But I told myself that it must be all right. Because the Army doesn't make mistakes, does it?
