They explore the place

When he opened it up, the other five climbed up on the porch and stepped into the cabin with him. The interior of the cabin was just as awesome as the exterior, in Peter’s opinion.

It had a large living room in front of a huge glass door that led to an outdoor deck. At the main room, a number of sofas and stuffed chairs formed a semi-circle around a fireplace and a TV mounted on the wall. A bear rug lied on the floor in front of the fireplace and a wooden coffee table was beside it. Behind the couches there was a big dining table with ten chairs around it.

“The ceiling is quite high, isn’t it?” Taylor chimed in once all of them were inside.

“Yeah,” Peter agreed. “We couldn’t see it from outside, but look,” He pointed to the right side of the cabin, behind the dining table. “They’ve built a second floor over those rooms.”

Indeed, like Peter had pointed out, at the right side there was a hallway between two doors and a stairway led to an area above it, where there were two other doors.

“Those must be the bedrooms, but there are only four doors there,” Kendra supposed, sidling up to Peter. “Didn’t you say that there were six bedrooms?”

“There’s more there,” Shawn pointed out to the left side of the cabin. “Those must be the smaller rooms, though. I won’t sleep there.”

“We’ll see it later,” Peter said. “But you’re right, those are the remaining bedrooms.”

The area Shawn had pointed was a short hallway to the left of the fireplace, where two closed doors flanked a third door, which was opened to reveal a bathroom. Peter supposed the other two bathrooms were located inside the bigger rooms.

“All that’s missing is the kitchen,” Taylor piped in. “It must be behind that door.” She nodded in the direction of a closed door to the right of the fireplace.

“That not all that’s missing,” Kendra objected. “How do we get to that room below us? We all saw it from the outside.”

“It’s in here.” Dustin called out from the right hallway.

The others walked over to him while he pointed out to the stairway. The flight of stairs that led to the upper bedrooms was the same that connected the main floor to the lower one. Hannah was the first to go down the stairs to check it out.

A huge grin grew on her face when she laid her eyes on what was there. “Nice!”

“What is it?” Taylor appeared behind her and peeked over the blonde’s shoulder. “Oh, god, no!”

The lower floor consisted basically of a single room with a pool table on the middle of it and a black leather couch by one of the walls. The floor was covered by beige carpet while the walls were made of wood like the rest of the cabin. A big window on the far wall provided a beautiful view of the lake and the area around it.

“I’ll have so much fun beating all of you on this.” Hannah gloated, grinning at her friends.

“If you find someone willing to play against you, you mean?” Taylor asked, sarcastically.

Behind all of them, Shawn cleared his throat. “I hate to be a party-pooper, guys,” He said, in a tone that clearly said that he meant to be just that. “But don’t you think that we have to decide about the bedrooms now?”
