Pewter City Gym

You stand outside the entrance of Pewter City Gym with Peter, the young man who just saved you from a gangbang ambush near the start of Route 3.

It’s smaller than you expected, not tiny, and made mostly of rock, with a wooden roof and door.

“We might as well go inside now that we’re here.” Peter encourages you. “I presume neither of you have the skills or Pokemon to take him on quite yet, but you might as well make an introduction before he goes on vacation.”

“He’s going on vacation?” Belle asks, visibly concerned by this.

“Yes in just a couple of days. But he’ll be back in a few weeks. Trust me, you guys will need at least that long to train up a roster of six anyhow.”

Belle is frowning more than you’d expect at this news. Clearly she has her eyes on that Boulder Badge.

Pete pushes open the doors, revealing, in the middle of the grand stadium… Just Brock and one other guy.

You recognize Brock from TV and magazine appearances - he has brown spiky gelled hair, and his trademark toothy smile.

As soon as he sees you, that grin becomes three times as wide.

“Oh my god, yes, yes, thank you Arceus!” He exclaims, bounding towards you.

“Misty was right after all! I should never have doubted her for a minute. Look at you both, oh, aren’t you just wonderful!”

“Um… Hi?” You say uncertainly, reaching out a hand to offer a handshake.

Brock grabs your hand with both of his, and shakes it vigorously.

“Hi, hello, and welcome indeed! Thank you so much for choosing my gym to start your Pokeslut Badge careers.”

“Our… What?” Belle asks uncertainly, clearly not able to comprehend what hear ears just heard.

“The Pokeslut badges! The things Misty was advertising through her networks last month! Quietly authorised by the League earlier this year! Come on, you’re yanking my chain, right? There’s no way you’ve turned up at my gym wearing those outfits as a complete coincidence.”

“I’m sorry, but we indeed might have.” You explain awkwardly. “Could you please explain what you’re talking about?”

Brock’s smile falters just the tiniest bit. “Oh, okay, sure. In that case, let me reveal to you… The opportunity of your lifetimes! Darien, bring that tablet over here, and find Misty’s vid for me.”

’Pokeslut Badges’? This sounds ominous… But there’s no harm in watching a video, surely…
