Chapter 706

What's next?
Setting some rules (part 1).
We all went back to work after lunch. I had finished my room already, but there was still a lot to do. Everything from building the extra furniture the girls brought to the stuff you don’t even think about, like putting the towels and toilet paper in the bathrooms.
I built Mila’s desk in her room. Again, now that I think about it. It was the same one she bought on the internet, got scolded for it by her dad and then he and I built it for her together. After going through all that trouble, no wonder she brought it here.
I helped Alice organize her tools in the garage. Plenty of stuff I’d never seen before, really. She had already given me a few much needed lectures to spot issues with the van and other cars, at least the basics so I’d know what to look for, but even so, I think I should come here with her every so often to learn more.
I helped Grace fill the shelves in the library. Well, not exactly. She said a library should be organized, and I agree, so… We spent more time categorizing the books than putting them in their proper place. And you know what? I shouldn’t have been surprised that her collection, as big as it is, is only about 15% smut. The girl is well read, having a bit of everything from fiction to non-fiction and even biographies of some people. There was an A-Z collection of old encyclopedias that were outdated even back then. They were her dad’s but he gifted them to her because Grace found it interesting to have printed stuff with information that is now considered to be wrong. And yeah, I see the appeal, too.
It was time for dinner before we knew it. I made some pasta since the girls were all tired and hungry again. We finished eating and, having everything mostly in place, moved to the living room to rest and just… be.
“I didn’t expect this to be so tiring…” Noelle said, sinking on her spot on the couch.
“Right? What do we even need the gym for? Just going up and down these stairs every day would be enough to stay in shape,” Mila said with an exhausted groan.
“But I like the gym,” Sarah said. “It looks nice.”
“I agree it’s one thing we could’ve done without, but it’s so ingrained in my routine at this point that I wanted to have one if we could afford it,” I said.
“Personally, I like this living room,” Diana said, looking around. “With how big the whole house is, this place feels the most… homey, let’s say.”
I nodded. “Yes, I was thinking that, too.”
“How’s Cake been holding up?” Alice asked me.
“Not as well as I hoped, better than I expected. She’s a little stressed, but maybe it’s because we’ve been moving around a lot.”
“Poor thing. Where is she now?”
“Sleeping in a box in my room.”
“Maybe the smell of your clothes calms her?” Noelle offered.
“Maybe. She does sleep a lot, though. Her running around today counts as her daily exercise.”
“...”
“...”
“...”
“...”
“...”
After a strange silence, Mila suddenly burst out laughing. “This is weird! We normally try to make the best of the time we have together, but now…”
“We have nothing but time together,” Grace said, chuckling. “Here’s hoping we don’t get sick of each other.”
“It’s a valid concern, but shut up,” Sarah told her.
“I don’t want to be the one with the stick up her ass, but should we establish some rules?” Alice suggested.
“Like what?” Mila asked.
“If there’s something in the fridge and you don’t know who it belongs to, don’t eat it!” Noelle said firmly, anticipating the issue.
“Yeah, that’s an obvious one that still needs to be said,” Diana agreed.
“Basically, if it’s not yours, don’t eat it or drink it, then,” Alice said. “We can keep the lower space for… communal stuff.”
“At the same time, don’t fill the fridge with all your stuff,” Sarah said. “Be sensible.”
We all agreed on those points.
“Let’s try to keep things tidy, too,” Alice said. “We should clean up at least twice a month, if not once a week, but if we see something that’s out of place, let’s not wait for cleaning day or for someone else to put it away.”
Grace and Sarah silently turned to look at Mila.
“Greez! I heard!” Mila said, pouting.
“Another one,” Grace said, not commenting on that. “Let’s not go into each other’s rooms without permission. Oliver’s room excluded, of course.”
Alice snickered. “What? Got something to hide, Grace?”
“Maybe?” Grace smirked teasingly before the two laughed it up. “But no, I mean it mostly to respect each other’s private spaces. Not like we actually have things to hide, but you know. Basically, just knock before going in and don’t go in if there’s no one.”
“Wait, how come my room is excluded?” I asked.
“How are we supposed to wake you up with a blowjob if we can’t go in without your permission?”
“Ah.” Perfectly sound argument. Motion accepted.
“Speaking of blowjobs…” Diana said, swallowing and looking around the room, at its wall and the entire space. “Um… Your rules on sex?”
“We’re putting rules on sex!?” Mila asked, worried and appalled.
Diana cleared her throat. “I mean… What are the boundaries? You built a sex room, right? Is that the… designated sex place?”
As if I was the authority on the topic, everyone turned to me. I crossed my arms, grumbled and gave it some thought.
“I mean… This place, this house, every room and every piece of furniture… It’s all ours and we’ve got no one to hide from. That said… Would you be okay with walking into a room and randomly stumbling into some of us having sex?”
“Yeah.”
“Yes.”
“I think so, yeah.”
“I don’t think I’d mind.”
“Probably.”
“Sounds hot.”
Perverts. All of them.
