You decide ask the guard

You go to a table and took a seat before ordering mead. While waiting for your order, you reach out to your purse and withdraw a coin. Then you slide the coin in front of you and you look at the guard, nodding.

The guard come to the table and quickly pocket the coin. Funny how language of money is easily understood. "What do you want to know, Milord?" the guard asks, more polite than moments prior.
