A fairy

A tiny woman with short pink hair, translucent lavender wings, and a dress made of a white iris plant was hovering in the air in front of the naked couple. She waved pleasantly and smiled an innocent, childish grin. Nadia and Alice blinked in surprise, too tired and baffled to reply, so the fairy continued. "I know exactly how to release that little trinket you've got."

Alice shook off her stupor and crawled forward, eagerly. "Really?"

The fairy nodded. "Of course. You guys aren't the first humans to do some sexy stuff with fey magic and forget how to undo it at the end. It's a common problem, really."

"We didn-" Nadia started to ask, but Alice interrupted her with an elbow to the ribs. "Okay, can you help us?"

"Yuh huh." The fairy held out her little hand for a handshake. "My name's Petalbubble, it's nice to meet you."

Nadia hesitantly reached out her own hand, afraid their tiny savior might prove fragile. The fairy just took her finger and shook it with surprising vigor. "Thanks, uh, Petalbubble. I'm Nadia, and this is my girlfriend Alice."

Petalbubble snickered. "Sorry. Human names are funny sometimes. But let's look at that trap down there." The fairy cracked her knuckles and landed on the wooden cuffs. She tiptoed along the bark like a ballerina, then leaned over to examine it closely. "Hmm. These doohickeys usually have a condition for release, like a magic word or something. Do you two know what it might be?"

"Please?" Alice asked, hopefully. The cuffs remained solid, and Nadia gave her a disappointed look. "Worth a shot."

"We didn't set these up ourselves," Nadia said. "Somebody else gave it to us."

"That's unconventional." Petalbubble replied slyly. "You two must be serious bondage nerds, giving your safe word to someone else, huh?"

Nadia groaned. "Can you get it off or not?"

"Okay, okay," Petalbubble ran her finger along the ridge of the bark, like she was reading a passage in a book. "Oh, here's something. It says the condition is asking a question."

"A what?" Alice and Nadia asked in unison.

"The spell says, 'Release the unspoken question lingering behind your tongue, and both parties will find themselves free'." Petalbubble looked up, hands on hips, and asked, "Is one of you holding a burning question of some kind?"

Nadia shook her head. "No. We're always honest with one another. If one of us wants something, we voice it immediately, right honey?" She looked to Alice, but her partner just looked at the ground, eyes wide and teeth clenched. "Alice? What's wrong?"

"N-nothing!" Alice stammered. "I mean, it's not a big deal or anything, it's just... I mean there wasn't a good time, and you know... maybe we should wait, not that I don't want to, it's just... this is weird, I mean, right-"

Nadia looked Alice in the eyes and put her free hand on Alice's shoulder. "Babe, what do you need to ask? It's okay; whatever it is, I can take it. You know that."

Alice looked at Nadia and tears started to well in her eyes. "Okay, fine."
