"You are now invisible."

“Wait,” says Meg, as Cass disappears around a corner. “I’m still getting my head around this. Can I really do anything I want?”

“Pretty much. As long as it involves embarrassing girls.”

“Like, actually really anything? My imagination’s the limit?”

“Yep.”

“Can you make me invisible?”

“Sure. You are now invisible.”

“And can I fly? And walk through walls like Kitty Pryde?”

“Done.”

“Okay,” says Meg, noclipping through the nearest wall to follow Cass down the stairs. The nude jiggling red-faced blonde must have gotten a little mixed up, since her room is up on the fourth floor near yours. “Wow, this is great! She’s totally naked! And she’s so hot!”

“Never gets old, does it?”

“Where do you think she’s going?”

“I don’t know.”

“She must be planning to sneak across the third floor and get back up the other staircase. Let’s not make it too easy for her.”

The door to the third floor is locked. So’s the door to the second floor. Cass mutters something rude and glances back up the stairwell, wondering if she dare go back up. The fourth floor door creaks open and two grinning faces peep out, looking for her.

“Come back, Cass! We won’t hurt you! We’re your friends!”

Cass bites back an insult, not wanting to be heard, and quickly ducks down behind the railing as the phone-wielding students pile into the stairwell. She’s not alone any more. She needs a way out, fast, before she’s trapped and at their mercy.

There’s only one way to go.

She takes the next flight of stairs two at a time, her bare feet slapping against the concrete. When she comes to the first floor she halts, glancing back and forth, not sure what to do next and conscious she’s running out of time.

There’s two doors here.

One leads into the lobby. She can probably just walk right up to reception and ask for a spare towel or something. Quickest route to safety. The only problem is that it’s always full of people.

She doesn’t know where the other door leads. She’s never seen it opened before in her life.
