Entering Avatar, Banjiro became a welcome visitor of the Southern Water Tribe, helping them out to create better homes, walls, and weapons until the time finally came for Aang to awaken. After that incident, Aang fully dedicated part of her time to teaching Banjiro, the two getting closer and closer as they put their heads together in happier moments, realising that they ended up slow dancing repeatedly. Soon, Aang was fully welcomed in as Sokka found his greatest muse, his truest love. Soon, Sokka was even bringing his own harem of women, including Kaya, Princess Yue, and Suki, all with the help of his own flying bison Aang helped him and his lovers bond with. Also, thanks to their presence, Sokka got even stronger by humbling himself to learn Banjiro's breathing techniques, and Aang had finally found a way to curve Banjiro's aura into a pleasant aroma that meshed well with nature and calmed the spirits, rather than aggravating them.

With that done, Banjiro could finally entice Aang's group to enter the spirit world, where he could get the most important piece of this world's power: their spirits.

With Ben 10 magic, it became child's play for him to push his way through the forest and help Aang and the others as they got through. Yet, this is where tragedy would strike as Banjiro would intentionally split off from the group to slay the Face Stealer, only to find compromise with various spirits, including Raava and Vaatu. When he emerged, he was once again an abominable thing, but he now had the tools to control and curve all that power inside of him, bonding with a spirit made by Raava and Vaatu to hopefully tip the scales in their favour. This weakened Aang slightly for a time, but she then bounced back, allowing Banjiro and Aang's group to meet up with Toph.
