Chapter 56 by Zeke69 Zeke69

What's next?

New arrival

You watched in horror as Gabbie’s stomach expanded and stirred with life until she looked about eight months pregnant. But what struck you the most was the complete lack of panic from the girl, there was no fear in her eyes, no disgust or shock. If anything it seemed as if she was overtaken by a strange bliss. Her hands moving over the expanse of her stomach with awe.

Your own heart was racing. This wasn’t normal by any stretch of the imagination and you knew that whatever stirred within Gabbie’s womb was unlikely to be human. But what could you do? What was to be done? There was no hospital that could handle something like this, and you had no way of knowing if Gabbie would be harmed by anything you tried.

“Wow,” Gabbie breathed, running a hand through her hair. “That’s pretty weird, huh?”

Weird?” You collapsed back on the bed, staring at her in disbelief. “That’s all you have to say?”

She didn’t respond right away, merely rubbed at her swollen stomach. But then she smiled at you. “You fucked me pretty good,” her voice was all dreamy, distant, “and now we’re gonna have a baby. I always wanted a baby, but I thought it would take longer. This is nice though, saves time. Have you thought of any names?”

Something was very wrong, it was like the girl was drunk or coked out. But there was a strange and genuine look of adoration that she was throwing you, something that you imagined was connected to dark magic and whatever the hell had infected you previously.

“Ok,” you said, thinking aloud, “We’re going to get through this. We just…we need…fuck, ok…ok…”you felt yourself spiral, lay back and took a deep breath, “First of all, back in the attic.”

Gabbie made a face, but was compliant enough as you led her out into the darkened hall and then up into the tiny room. You felt guilty about a heavily pregnant woman having to sleep on that old couch, but you couldn’t risk your mom seeing her. She had quilts and blankets and you figured she could stay there until the morning and your mom had gone to work. After that, you’d have to figure something out more long term.

A restless sleep followed, one where you tossed and turned furiously in a fevered manner. You were in the shallowest level of the subconscious, just half awake the entire time despite how exhausted and pained you had felt. Your chest had largely healed, but that only compacted your worries. As soon as the first light of sunrise came through your window you were up and about, feeling awful but needing to push on.

You had awkward breakfast spent trying to play things cool while your mom ranted about some new issue at work. Thankfully she had slept like a log the previous night and hadn’t been stirred by any of the noise you had made. The second she was out the door, you veered upstairs and went to check on Gabbie.

A hundred concerns flooded through your mind as you climbed the stairs to the attic. Was there an appropriate place that could safely shelter a heavily pregnant woman? And what would happen when her time came? What kind of demonic spawn would come crawling out? It made you sick to think about.

“Gabbie?” You called, “Are you ok? The coast is clear, my Mom’s gone to work and we can-”

The couch was empty, the blankets tossed aside. Your heart began to race. Where the hell had she gone?

“Good morrrning!” Gabbie’s voice was so loud in your ear, so cheerful and upbeat that it made you jump in shock.

“Fuck,” you shouted, “Not cool! Wait, what the fuck…”

Gabbie stood before you naked, but that wasn’t the surprising part, rather it was how her once heavily pregnant stomach had reverted to her previously flat abdomen. You couldn’t make sense of it at first? Had last night just been one horrible nightmare? Had the process reversed itself?

“Mike,” she said, grinning, “turn around, there’s someone I’d like for you to meet.”

Still wrestling with your thoughts, you did so, turning to find that the two of you weren’t alone. Laying on a piece of furniture was a naked woman, staring at you with sultry, heavily lidded eyes.

She looked you up and down appreciatively and grinned. “Hi, Daddy.”
