Neighbor

You look up and realize that the man in front of you is actually your neighbor, Luke Unlike your other neighbors, Luke was a bit on the younger side. And unlike other neighbors, Luke was a single father at the age of 24. Apparently during his college years, after a night of drinking, he ended up getting his one-night stand pregnant. After she gave birth to their son, Will, and wanted nothing to do with being a mother. So, she left him with Luke and he decided to leave college, get a good job and raise his son alone.

Luke noticed you looked at him for an uncomfortable amount of time and began to speak, "Hey, are you okay? You've been spacing out and looking at me for a while? Do you need help or anything?"

"No, no!" you wave your hands in front of you to dismiss what he said. "No, everything's alright. You just look familiar, that's all."

"I do? Well sorry to say, but I don't recognize you at all." Luke places his hand on his chin and thinks for a bit. "Did we go to school together?"

"Yeah, I think we went to high school together," you say. It isn't a lie that you went to high school together. In fact, you and Luke were somewhat friends back then. Well, friends is a strong word. You would sometimes pass eachother in the hall now and again and got along pretty well. But after he graduated went to college and became a dad, his parents disowned him and while looking for a place to stay, he found his current house, recognized you, and decided it was fate and moved in.

"Did we go to high school together? You look too young to have gone to school with me."

"I just look young, that's all. I'm 21 right now. And unfortunately, most bars don't believe that when they see my ID, they kick me out." It isn't technically wrong that you're 21, you just got aged down when you turned into a girl.

"Really? Well I'm sorry to say this, but I don't recognize you. Can I get your name?"

Crap, he wants your name!? Uh... think, think. "Jane," you blurt out. "When we went to school we didn't talk. The only reason I know about you is through mutual friends like Alex"

"You know Alex?" he asks you to which you nod. "Well, if you know Alex, then you're good in my book." He reaches his hand out, which you shake. "It was nice talking, but I need to get going. After high school, I became a dad and my babysitter just canceled and I need to go home and make some calls until I can get a replacement for the next few days"

Wait, you have an idea. Since you can't exactly stay in your own home, you can babysit for Luke and stay in his home. "You need a babysitter? Well, I need a place to stay for the next 2 days while my place gets fumigated. I can take care of your kid and instead of payment, can I stay in your place?"

Luke looks at you and thinks to himself for a bit. "Are you sure?" he asks. "If it isn't too much to ask, I'll gladly agree to your deal." He smiles the biggest smile you've ever seen and hugs you with a bear hug. You know it should be wrong, but you're a bit turned on by it. "Come on, let me lead you to my place"
