You sit cross-legged on your twin bed, the muffled bass from a distant party vibrating through your window. Your roommate Emily left for the weekend to visit family, leaving you alone with your thoughts and the delicious possibilities your power presents.

Your nursing textbooks lie scattered across your desk, a reminder of your academic probation. Professor Kaplan's stern face appears in your mind—her piercing eyes behind tortoiseshell glasses as she warned you last week: "One more failed exam, Ms. Carlisle, and you'll be looking at academic suspension."

You trace circles on your comforter, contemplating. The sorority party tonight at Kappa Eta Zeta would be the perfect hunting ground. All those bodies, all those possibilities. Your boyfriend Tyler has been texting you all afternoon about meeting up there, his messages growing increasingly suggestive.

"Can't wait to see which lucky girl shows up tonight," his last text reads, a private joke between you two. He knows about your ability—the only person who does—and he's grown addicted to guessing which vessel you'll arrive in, never quite knowing who he's really with until you whisper your code phrase.

Your phone buzzes again. It's Madeline, your sorority president.

"Where are you?? Party started 30 mins ago and I need help with the punch before the TA mixer starts! Rumor has it Dr. Bennett's coming too!!!"

Dr. Bennett. Your anatomy professor who's been giving you those failing grades. Your lips curl into a smile as you imagine slipping into his teaching assistant Jessica's body. She has all the answer keys, after all. And she's been flirting with Bennett all semester.

You rise from your bed and move to your closet, rifling through outfits. You need to look good enough to catch someone's eye, but not so good that people will remember you were at the party before you vanish into someone else's skin.

"Choices, choices," you murmur to yourself, pulling out a simple black dress that hugs your curves without being too memorable. "Tonight could solve so many problems."

You slip the dress on and check your reflection. Your eyes glitter with anticipation, that familiar tingle of power dancing just beneath your skin. Tonight, you could be anyone: the straight-A student whose notes you need, the sorority sister whose boyfriend you've been eyeing, or perhaps even Jessica, with her privileged access to test answers and Dr. Bennett's attention.
