Walk out

"Harris!" Principal Snyder yelled as he spotted Xander.

"Oh, hell." Xander griped and ducked into a doorway trying to avoid the annoying man. "Just fuck all the way off Snyder. Start walking in the other direction and don't ever stop. "

After waiting a minute and hearing nothing Xander popped out of the doorway. No sign of Snyder. Figuring he had managed to avoid the school's principal Xander made his way to the library as it was a good a place as any to waste the remainder of 1st period. Seeing as he had missed thirty minutes of it already.

Just as he was about to enter the library, his hand on the door, he heard a commotion outside. Turning to face the windows opposite the library he watched as Principal Snyder marched away from the school despite one of the secretaries from the front office stomping around behind him yelling at him.

"What the hell?" Xander asked himself.

"Quite curious." Giles intoned.

Xander flinched and gave the man behind him a look. "Really?"

Giles smile was fleeting as he looked over at Xander.

"Yeah, yeah, yuk it up." Xander shook his head. He nodded his head at what was going on outside, "You know what thats about?"

"I know just as much as you. I heard an awful racket and came out to investigate." Giles watched silently for a second.

"You think he finally snapped?" Xander pointed to Snyder.

"It's possible. Seems the type." Giles had a fleeting smile on his face. "He certainly seems determined to leave."

"Yup." Xander bobbed his head.

"Shouldnt you be in class?" Giles asked blithely.

"Overslept. I dreamed a dream no man would want to wake up from." Xander trailed off with a wistful sigh. "Y'know?"

"Ah. Yes. I was young once, too." Giles shook his head ruefully.

"And of course, I woke up right before the good bit." Xander mock bemoaned, he put his head in his hands and sighed dramatically. "It felt so real, Giles."

"Don't you have any male friends your own age you should be discussing this with?" Giles asked.

"Nope. All I had for friends was Wills and Jesse. Now Jesse's dead." Giles nodded his head in understanding. The two watched silently as Principal Snyder walked off into the distance.
