Backstory &Origin of Powers

In 1603, during the height of the Sengoku period, Takahiro was a ronin (masterless samurai) mortally wounded in the Battle of Sekigahara. At the moment of ****, the spirit of an ancient yōkai called "Kage-oni" (Shadow Demon)—sealed centuries earlier by Japan’s early emperors—merged with him. This yōkai, a secret guardian of the imperial line, chooses a worthy human every 500 years to become the "Shadow of Japan."

Kage-oni granted Takahiro eternal life and shadow powers, but bound him to an oath of eternal loyalty to Japan and its people. Since then, he has lived in the shadows, protecting temples, villages, and cities from supernatural threats (malevolent yōkai, oni, and even modern secret organizations). He never reveals his name and is known in local legends only as the "Phantom of Kyoto"or "Shadow Samurai."

**Powers**

1. Shadow Mastery (Umbra-kinesis):

   • Shapes shadows into weapons (sword, spear, shield).

   • Nearly immortal in complete darkness (intense light is his only weakness).

   • Can teleport through shadows (up to 5 km range).

2. Yōkai Sense:

   • Detects supernatural beings, lies, or malicious intent within a 1 km radius.

3. Eternal Rebirth:
