Chapter 140 by Vain Vain

What's next...?

Back to Gavin, as Chloe and and Brandon returns to the cabin

Back at the cabin, Gavin had just started worrying a bit about Chloe and Brandon, when the two of them suddenly stepped in through the door - startling both Vicky and himself only a few moments after they'd traded phones with one another. Gavin himself had only had a few tries at solving the combination on the girl's phone, while she in turned seemed to have actually started writing a little at the end of his thread.

"Hi there!" Both Chloe and Brandon seemed quite out of breath, after what had to be a really long walk - considering they'd been out for two hours at least. There was something else in the redhead's blue eyes however, that made Gavin immediately realize that the walk itself wasn't the only cause to her blushing red cheeks.

"Yeah, I'm fine...!" She just smiled at him weakly as he asked her though, and then quickly excused herself as she said she was in need of a shower. Obviously she wouldn't want to talk about it with Vicky or even Brandon in the room, and so he didn't try and stop her when she headed for the bathroom, even if he felt like he'd really want to hear it from herself rather than being **** to guess.

It was easy to see that she and Brandon had been up to something at least, even though it wasn't quite so clear as to how far they'd gone, and for some reason Gavin felt a pang of jealousy or possibly even anger towards the other guy.

He'd always liked Brandon, since he was one of few of those sporty guys in school that never racked down on anyone for being more of a nerd, and even looked up to him for having a steady relationship going with one of the hottest girls and without ever bragging about it behind her back. Thus today was the first time he'd ever seen any sign of him cheating on Ashley, and that with the only girl that Gavin himself had actually had sex with, so he'd certainly have all the reason to get mad about it if it was actually true... Though he was actually more offended by the implied betrayal towards Ashley, than for what he might have been up to with Chloe.

But then he suddenly remembered the scene he'd witnessed in Vicky's room the other day, and found it a bit strange that he reacted like this when it Brandon cheating on her with another girl, but barely at all when it was Ashley herself who'd most obviously been kind of cheating on him... And that's when he noticed Victoria looking up for a moment to flash the other guy a quick smile, which also wasn't quite so innocent as he'd seen her smile at others, and made him realize that she too had been involved with him in one way or the other. And if he'd had anything to do with both Chloe and Victoria, than he'd most likely been even closer with Heather...

"Dammit!" Gavin found himself swearing quietly at his own train of thoughts, as he really didn't want to work himself up about something he actually didn't know about. Just the idea that Brandon could well have been around with all four of the girls in the cabin still kinda ticked him off though, even as he didn't know what to actually do about it.

"Are you guys hungry...?" Brandon suddenly asked, as the room was uncomfortably quiet, and tried a quick smile back at Vicky while he offered to try and cook something.

"I kinda suck at it though..." He confessed, with that helpless look on his face that Gavin guessed could make any girl do whatever he asked for, and which only managed to agitate himself even further.

"I can help you." Gavin replied - a bit stiffer than he'd meant to -, and noticed the other two looking at him in some surprise as he stood up from his seat. He'd really just prefer to have some time to think on his own, but for once he just didn't quite feel like leaving the other guy out of sight for long with any of the girls.

"Thanks, man!" Brandon was quick to get out of his stupor at least, and even seemed genuinely grateful as he followed him into the kitchen, while they left Vicky to keep writing on her own. There was some a uneasiness between them though, and Gavin was started wondering if he'd been too quick on his conclusions as he could see that the other guy seemed actually regretful about something.

Perhaps it wasn't him, but rather Chloe who had started whatever they'd been up to? Whatever it was, and however it started, it seemed fairly obvious that she must have told the guy something about her own current relation to Gavin, or he wouldn't be acting so cautious around him. Perhaps he too, just like Gavin himself, would rather prefer for their good friend Chloe to explain it herself...

Can Chloe sort it all out, or are there further complications on the way...?
