Chloe wanders in the woods

It was just past six o’clock, the sky was slowly darkening and Chloe was sitting in a log deep in the forest, munching on the last sandwich that was left in the food basket that she carried. After she left that jerk Kurt, she thought that she was going to find the cave, but a bear appeared out of nowhere and she had to run like the sky was falling down, deviating her from the original trail.

Then she had spent the rest of the time trying to go back to the sign or at least to where she was before the bear, but her quest was seemingly useless. Now she was probably more lost than before and she only had Kurt to blame, if the guy didn’t try to **** himself on her, she wouldn’t have to go to the cave alone, Gavin would still be with her and everything would be fine.

The only blame she placed upon herself was not bringing her phone with her, figuring she wouldn’t need it around Gavin. Now she didn’t have a way to call the cabin and tell them where she was.

”Dammit!” She shouted, cursing her own fate. The only thing that could make her situation worse would be if it rained. But luckily for her, the weather was in her favor that day.

After a few more minutes, Chloe finished eating and figured that it wouldn’t do much good to stay sitting on that log, so she stood up and resumed her walk. The redhead was beginning to be afraid of the dangers that would come with the night if she didn’t found her way in that maze of trees and paths.

”At this point I’ll be lucky to find another cabin.” She thought as she pushed a branch out of her way.

Chloe was starting to feel cold, her shorts and top didn’t protect her arms and legs from the chilly air. Not for the first time during her current ordeal, she wondered if Gavin had managed to find the others, if he returned to the cabin or if he kept searching for his supposedly missing phone and got lost in the woods like her.

”One more thing to blame on Kurt if Gavin got lost too.” She frowned.

Just as she thought that, she began to hear a strange noise, like a weak stream of water hitting the dry leaves on the ground. Chloe raised an eyebrow and ran in the direction of its source. However, when she reached it, the view made her cover her eyes with her hands.

“Oh, my God!” She yelled, embarrassed. “I’m so sorry!”

A dark haired man dressed in the uniform of the forest rangers quickly tucked his dick back into his pants. “Whoa, young lady, what are you doing out here at this time?”

Chloe was mortified, it was bad enough that she gotten lost in the woods and now she had caught a forest ranger peeing. ”This isn’t my day.”

“Are you ok?” The ranger asked, concerned. “You didn’t get lost, did you?”

Chloe took her hands off her face and gingerly nodded. “Yeah, I got separated from my friends earlier on my way to the cave, then a bear jumped out of nowhere, so I ran and ended up getting lost.” She explained, looking down at her feet.

“I see,” The man said. “Well, first of all, you shouldn’t be getting too close to the cave, we are making a point of warning everyone that there’s been bear sightings near there. You didn’t know?”

“I did, my friend told me that a ranger had informed her about the bears, but I never thought that I could stumble onto one.” Chloe answered, looking up and finally getting a good first look at the ranger.

He was strong and tall, his black hair was short and his eyes were brown. His face had some stubble growing and Chloe estimated that he must have been in his middle twenties. His nametag showed his name, ‘Colin M.’.

“Ok, let’s get you out of here, then,” Colin said. “Where are you staying?”

“I’m at the Ravers’ cabin,” Chloe replied. “But I still don’t know if my other friend that was going with me to the cave got back there, he got sidetracked and I didn’t see him again. Can I borrow your phone for a moment?”

“Sure, I guess.” Colin fished his phone out of his pocket and handed it to Chloe.

She dialed the cabin’s number and waited. After a few seconds, someone picked it up.

”Ravers’ cabin, hello?” Brandon’s voice spoke from the other side.

“Brandon? It’s Chloe!”

”Chloe? Damn, where are you, girl?” He asked, sounding relieved. ”Zack went looking for you and Gavin.”

Chloe frowned. “You mean that Gavin didn’t get back as well?” She asked. “Never mind, I’ll look for him.”

Before Brandon could reply, Chloe cut off the call. She handed the phone back to Colin. “Thanks, but I need to go find my friend now.”

“You’re sure? It’ll be dark soon and then it’s going to be pretty impossible to walk around this forest,” Colin warned her. “How old are you?”

“I’m eighteen.” Chloe smiled at him, knowing that if she was underage he could take her back even if she didn’t want to.

Colin sighed. “I shouldn’t let you wander deeper into these woods,” He said. “Shame I forgot the walkie-talkies at the station, I could’ve loaned you one.”

“Don’t worry, you’ve helped me already… Colin,” She read his nametag. “I can take care of myself.”

“Ok then, take care,” Colin smiled at the young redhead. “If you need help, try to head west and you’ll find the station,” He instructed. “And if you can’t find your friend and it gets too dark, find some kind of cover, ok?”

Chloe nodded. “Understood, thanks.” She returned his smile. “Now I really should go.”

“Yeah, of course,” The ranger agreed. “Again, be careful.”

“Thanks again!” Chloe said as she walked past him in the opposite direction of the one she came from.

Colin stood there watching her leave until she disappeared behind the trees, branches and bushes.
