Tell the truth

"It is..." Ethan shrugs, telling the truth.

June smirks and snorts lightly. "Interestin'..." she pulls herself off the counter, turning slightly, but keeping her eyes fixed on Ethan. "You wouldn't happen to be sweet on her, would you dear?"

Ethan clears his throat, the accusation not quite what he was expecting. "No." Her responds, trying his best to make it clear he was not in fact 'sweet' on her. Although she was quite nice to look at- Ethan blinks a few times, banishing the thought.

"Hmmm," June nods knowingly, fetching what appears to be an extra-large cup, "Can I give you some advice, Ethan? Cousin-to-cousin?"

"Sure," Ethan watches the woman retrieve a pot of coffee, wondering what sort of sagely advice his distant cousin is going to bestow. "Cousin-to-cousin."

"Samantha Cole is a fine young woman. But-" June sets down the cup, pausing with the pot of coffee still in her other hand. "She has some demons."

"Demons?" Ethan raises his eyebrow, watching June pour the coffee into the cup. "What does that mean?"

June hesitates and sighs, only resuming when the cup is full. "It means she's got a chip on her shoulder large enough to break a mule's back."
