Chapter 138 by Vain Vain

Is this leading them somewhere? And where's the others...?

Sibling bantering at a restaurant in town

It was a rather small and cozy restaurant that Ashley had picked for their meeting with Hannah and Taylor, and despite being a bit late they still had to wait some twenty minutes for the two older girls to show up, so they had just enough time to catch a table with a nice view over the street.

"Hey guys!" Hannah immediately became the center of everyone's attention as she stepped through the door, and the young waiter that had eagerly been circling around Heather and Ashley seemed close to swooning when they were joined by the lively and beautiful blonde.

"Sorry we're late." Said Taylor, in a more moderate tone than her friend, but still with that sexy smile and raspy kind of voice that had always made them such a perfect team together. If there was any man in the room who wasn't immediately attracted to the bombshell blonde, they would likely still fall for the witty brunette at her side. Most would probably be turning their heads after both.

"It's ok!" The younger of the Woodsen sisters smiled back as she stood up to give each of the two newcomers a big hug, and was followed closely by both Zack and Heather in that order. "I don't think we were that hungry yet, and we managed to grab the best table while waiting!"

"Yeah, that's great!" Hannah grinned as she latched her arms around Zachary, who tried his best to hug her back without showing how nervous he always got when around her. Then she repeated the process with Heather as well, and gave the busty brunette a thoughtful little smile as they parted again. "Oh, Heather...? I think you've grown a bit!"

"Well, yeah..." Heather managed a quick smile back at her, and for once looked almost flustered for the compliment. She hadn't met Hannah in person for a while, and only sparsely before that despite of visiting her sister quite often, but what she'd seen of her had left some lasting impressions on her mind. There was probably only one girl in town that could make the high school cheerleader captain appear like a shy little schoolgirl in comparison, and even make her blush with just a simple compliment like that. "I heard you made some fun out of my cousin lately...?"

"Oh, yeah! I'm sorry about that!" The blonde was quick to apologize, though it was easy to tell that Heather was as eager to hear about the whole thing as her own sister, and the three of them sat down together at one half of the table. "But we should order something to eat before I tell you about it...?"

Meanwhile, Zack ended up on the other end of the table, with his sister Taylor taking the seat right across from him. For once he felt a bit uncomfortable about seeing her like this, even without having her lecherous best friend hanging on her shoulder, and he was again reminded of what he'd been jerking off to the same night...

"So, what did you like our little prank?" Taylor winked at him, though she could tell he was a little uneasy about something, and of course she managed to start with the subject that troubled him the most. "I heard you had a bit of a run-in with Heather's cousin as well...?"

"Not so much really..." He confessed, even as he was really glad that the guy was out of the cabin already, which he tried to explain to his older sister. "He'd been acting quite the douchebag though, and especially around Ash..."

"So how's it going with Vicky?" She asked, with a certain gleam in her eyes, while lowering her voice a little to keep the others from hearing. "Still not getting anywhere with that...?"

"Uh, not really!" Zack groaned a little inside, as this wasn't a subject he'd enjoy talking about either. It was still better than risking to end up in a discussion regarding a certain picture though, so he decided to keep to the track. "I'm not sure if I've got any chances at all, really..."

"Bullshit!" His sister laughed at him lovingly, and then stopped for a moment to let the waiter take her orders, before turning her blue eyes back to his again. "You've just gotta dig your head out of the sand, Zack! And stop letting douchebags like that guy Kurt get anywhere near her!"

"It's just not guys I'm worried about!" Zack found himself laughing a little, but immediately realized his mistake as he noticed the curious look on his sister's face. Whatever he'd actually intended to talk about, it was now obvious that she wouldn't let go of that slip of tongue until she'd heard every detail about it.

"It's... a long story, really..." He stuttered, with a quick glance towards the other girls at his side of the table, and then could just barely look into Taylor's eyes again while he continued in an even lower voice. "Quite a lot happened out there... and I know Vicky's been getting it on with Heather..."

"Heather? And sweet Victoria...?" Taylor just stared at him, with that excited gleam still remaining in her eyes as she too glanced over to the others. "Are you serious...?"

"Well, I don't have any details..." Zack shook his head a bit, in the same moment as he realized that Heather had in fact had quite a lot going on over the last few days, and that Vicky was hardly the only one to fall victim for her whims. Heck, he might even had been halfway on top of her himself, if it wasn't for that timely incident with Kurt. "I'm just... not getting anywhere at all with her..."

"Well, that's a shame!" His sister frowned, and seemed to be about to leave the subject be for a while, but then looked up at him again with another curious look on her face. "And how about Chloe? Are you sure you're still just wanna be best friends with her for ever and ever...?"

Now that was a question that Zack hadn't been prepared for at all, as he'd never actually spoke to his sister about it before, and had always assumed that Taylor of all people understood that people of opposite sexes could be best friends without also being lovers. But even that fact had seemed to change over the last few days, and he could tell that she could read something of it right out of his face.

"What's going on out there in the wild, actually...?" She smiled at him softly, after watching him for a couple of moments, but was considerate enough not to ask for any details. He'd got it on with Chloe somehow, and they were still friends but not considering themselves a pair, which was all that she needed to know for now. "I just hope you can sort it out, little bro...!"

"Yeah, thanks." He grunted, and was actually thankful that he'd had this little chance of talking to her after all. He knew she wouldn't go around telling every soul about what was going on in his head, even if she'd happily come back and tease him about it later.

"So, what did you like the picture then?" She changed the subject once more, almost as if knowing exactly how to push all the worst buttons, and caused him to finally start blushing for real while he stared right back into her face. The image of her blue eyes looking back into the camera - and with her tongue intertwined with Hannah's -, was deeply etched into his mind by now, and caused him to see it before his eyes when he looked at her now.

"It's... cute..." Was all he managed to say, while trying to find something else to look at than her curious blue eyes, and noticed how she gave him a rather odd little smile in return.

"That's... not quite the comment I expected..." She told him, again with that gleam in her eyes, and it was obvious she would have yet another thing to tease him about for years to come now. "Could you... elaborate a bit?"

"No, it's just..." Zack tried to make his brain start function again, while wondering what his sister could possibly get out of playing a game on him like this, but found himself to just keep stuttering mindlessly. "I mean... it's a great picture, really..."

"I'm not quite sure we're talking about the same thing here..." Taylor eventually interrupted him, with her smile having grown even wider over the last couple of moments, and then picked up her phone to show him a picture of what looked like a bag of clothes. Kurt's clothes, he realized - perched upon a fence just outside of some hotel. "I take it she didn't send you the right picture...?"

"Uh, no." Zack finally just gave up, and leaned himself back in his chair while his sister kept leering at him, before fishing up his own phone and showing her the picture he'd actually received. "I meant this one."

"Oh, yeah!" She nodded and inspected it closer, like it was the first time she'd seen it, and then broke into another wide grin again. "Well, yeah, that's a cute one. Not what I'd send my own brother, perhaps...?"

"No, I guess not." He agreed - somehow glad that it was over with at least -, so he wouldn't have to try and explain this kind of stuff to her later. Now he knew that she knew what he thought about the picture at least, and perhaps he'd manage to live with her teasing him about it for years to come now...

Would she let it stay at that though...?
